As this site continues to grow it will become more and more difficult for the members here to comment and try to be helpful with questions that are posted. I would suggest a few things - and you will find these suggestions on other posts as well.
1. Before posting a question, please do dome research and try to find the answer on your own. There are many duplicated questions and is frustrating for everyone to answer the same question over and over. No offense, but you will take thing to heart more if you find the answers on your own than by somebody throwing them out to you.
2. Learn how to use the site by spending time on it. There are many functions and resources here but it takes time to discover everything that is here.
3. Filling our your profile before you begin posting, this helps us to see who you are and what your goals are. Many of us are now avoiding posts by those who do not have a profile.
4. Please read your post before posting. Make sure you are asking a well thought and legitimate question. Nothing is more frustrating than opening up a post that is irrelevant and senseless.
5. Respect the moderators! There are here to help and monitor this site. Their time is limited and should be used to answer meaningful posts not weed through garbage that is posted by those who are just here to play.
6. Now with all that being said, welcome to FT! This site will help you achieve whatever goals you may have and is packed full of information. You have come to the right place!

Hi, my name is Kristen and i am 18 years old. I've struggled with my weight most of my life, and i am tired of losing weight and gainning some back and its just very frustrating to see. I am 5"1 and i weigh 169 pounds. I was on weight watchers a year ago and i really liked it. My starting weight a year ago was 210. I am proud of myself that i have lost that much weight, but i need more help, i need motivation, people to talk to about the same issues. I would appreciate it if someone could help me get started on this program, i am very eager to lose weight and get to my goal weight of 130. Anyone with any exercise routines and nutrition plans that have helped u would be greatly appreciated. :) Thank you.

Hello all, I am also new to this website and am excited to get started. In the past, my wrokouts consisted of jogging, playing tennis and basketball. Thats it. Should I try to do all the reps in my workout plan, or just play it by ear, and how my body feels? Is there a minimum amount i should be targeting? I am a beginner, so I want to be extra careful not to injure myself. I also have a question about diet. Am I supposed to make it up using the ingredients on the diet page or is that a rough guide, and do I need to eat my calorie target or is less ok? Sorry if these question have been asked before. I know that it depends on the individual, but I was just looking for some more specific direction. Thanks so much and I look forward to getting
started.

Hi all, I am new here and really want to get some of this weight off, and get healthier. I am 5'6 and weigh 210lbs. I have never been much for working out, I have an exercise bike I use on occasion. But now I need to lose this weight. Too embarrased to go to the gym, and around here the cost is an issue. Looking for a good diet plan and exercise plan.

Thanks

Welcome, dewright, to FT! There are so many differences in what someone likes, dislikes but if I could give you one suggestion it would be to find things that you enjoy --if you hate to sit in front of a video, don't, but if you love the outdoors, walk --if you like to dance, turn on the tunes and just prance around, keeping that heart rate up and incorporating some stretches and exercising within your fun --the point is to just find some things that make you feel good, not feel like "YUCK, this exercising thing stinks!", because most people that try to do things they don't like will stop and when the exercising stops, often the nutrition follows. That is not to say that you will find benefits to some exercises you may not care for but could incorporate a few times a week, some people loathe weight lifting, but the benefits are enormous, so adding it just a couple times a week certainly would be worth the trouble, especially when often you find you begin to enjoy it more than you thought!

Good luck to you, find what you enjoy, it doesn't always have to be a piece of equipment per say, it can be rowing a boat, playing yard bowling, taking walks, there are so many things that you could fill your week with a vast variety easily.

Hi everyone! I just joined. I am 32 years old and I have 2 small children. After I had my second child I put on about 20 lbs. I am 5'3 and right now I weight about 137. I have lost close to 15 lbs, but I am always looking for some new exercises. Right now, I do some weight training and 30-40 minutes of Cardio. I also do Pilates 3 times a week. Pilates is great for your core!! Good luck to everyone!

Hi everyone, I'm new here too. I'm a 28 year old female who is married and going to school full time. I'm 5'9" and weigh 165. I really want to lose at least 15 pounds and tone up. My problem with exercising is that I stay really motivated for about 2 weeks and then I tend to lose the motivation and will power. I'm just looking for someone to keep in check with and to keep me in line. Stay motivated and all that. A lot of what I have already read has helped a little! This is a great site.

Hey y'all, name's Nathan and just wanted to say hello. Stumbled onto this site yesterday and told my buddy Rob (Mohlmasterrm) about and he's the one who showed the forums gallery, so wanted to stop by. Pretty much here to get back in shape. Like Rob, I'm here in Iraq as well and need to get into shape. Been here three times in as many years and it's taken a toll on my work out routine, so if anybody has any tips or advice for getting into shape that fits around a hectic work schedule, I'd be much ablidged. Thanks

Hi, I'm new here, just joined yesterday.
I'm going to Sandhurst after I've finished university(which is the Officer's training academy for the British Army) but I haven't got the arm or lower back strength yet to be able to do everything that they expect.
If anybody has any ideas of how to strengthen the lower back then that would be great, it's the only area I'm really struggling with at the moment.

Hello everyone, just signed up, my husband and I. We are over weight by 20-30 lbs. Not exercising like we did in the past, "we used to walk alot". Avoiding driving if our destination was with-in a couple miles. We have moved recently to the "woods". Where we are at least 5 miles just to the nearest store.
Looking for various exercises which we can do in our small quarters.
Will look through the threads.

Hi Guys! After weeks and weeks of viewing the boards I finally decided to become a full fledged member! YAY me! The decision came after seeing how wonderful active members were with one another. I am getting married August 2009 at the Wayfarers Chapel and partying all night at Trump Nat'l Golf Course both in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA in a dress that is strapless and nearly backless w/ a sweetheart neckline, so I am looking to shape up and wear the hell out of that dress. I am looking to lose about 100lbs.
