Many of you know I have been a fan of walnuts for your nut "fix". Highest in Omega 3's of any nut for starters. But, some more excellent news.
One recent study found that eating walnuts(just 3 oz.) per day for 4 weeks reduced total cholesterol by 12%, but even better reduced LDL(bad cholesterol) by 18%!

do you buy then still in the shell or do you just get like a can of planter's or something?? I've never been a real big fan of the taste of walnuts, so if anyone has any ideas on how to make them taste better that would be great.:)

I've been buying high quality shelled(no shell) one's at the grocery store. Expensive, but I find the are a little easier on my mouth and don't have the bitter taste that I used to find with other walnuts. I general eat them crumbled in cereal, cc or yogurt. I enjoy them, but I think almonds are my fav.

Walnuts actually have a TON of great benefits! =) I've originally started eating them because they're a great natural anti-depressant! For more on the benefits of walnuts check out the link I posted at http://www.freetrainers.com/FT/jsp/Message.jsp?f_ix=3&t_ix=3701
(Topic called Nutz About Walnuts!) just copy and past the link in your browser. =)
