I know that water is a must just got staying alive and I drink more than the avg person. But I was wondering does water burn calories like food does? I can see it not burning as much as food but by drinking it and it going threw my system am I getting some of that effect?

Yes, to some degree. Not much, and someone on here will likely argue that cold water burns more calories than warm water because your body has to warm it up first, but that is hardly enough to matter.
However, water does help to give you a feeling of fullness, and can defianetly help in between meals.
Also, even mild dehydration can have a significant effect on your metabolism. So stay well hydrated.

If you really want to know a ton about the effects and benefits of water, read the book, "Your Bodies Many Cries For Water" by F. Batmanghelidj. This has been an invaluable resource for my recommendations concerning water intake.
