Like most of us I drink plenty of water all day. However, I was recently advised by a friend that drinking water during meals is not beneficial to someone on a strength training/exercise program... To me this sounds ludicrous, so I would like a second opinion.
Also note that his goals involve building mass and my goals are mostly progressive.

I want to say that I read that somewhere to but frankly I don't give a rip!
LOL! I'm gonna drink my water! :)
Seriously though, I'd love to hear the responses on this too.

i would think his reasoning would relate to the fact that he is trying to build mass. therefore, he would want to consume more food and calories at meal time, and the water would fill him up with empty calories.

The only issue I have read about drinking water with meals is that it effects the digestion of your food. Not really read anything else other than that.

If your eating enough meals, as in 6-9, then it wont matter if you absorb every calorie from every meal. Besides, what are you muscles made up of???
