Hello all!
I just found this site via randomn web searching and am just so excited! My story in a nutshell.....started lifting weights/cardio 3-4 years ago. Lifted heavy for while - seemed to put on too much bulk and not lean enough although I ate very clean. Cut back on the heavy weights....now I lift moderately and do on avg. 45 mins cardio 3X/week, kickboxing 2-3X/week and weightlifting 2-3X/week. The past 2-3 days I've felt quite bloated.....not sure if it's the hot weather or what! Additionally, the massive amounts of ab training have seemed to thicken my mid section......i do NOT want this!!!! how do i trim it? that's enough questions for now! time to hit the gym!

You may be drinking lots of water that is making you feel bloated (this is heat-related also).
As far as the thick mid-section, do you do weighted ab exercises? If so, this will thicken your ab muscles. Work without weights and go for higher number of reps. Sounds like you're doing ample cardio, but double-check your diet to make sure you are not consuming too much calories.
Good luck!

I feel like a bloated cow (!!!) after having eat too many carbs...... It's always the same. I cut down carbs and my six pack comes back. Try to see by yourself.
Welcome in here by the way!

Thanks for the heads up on the carbs....although I only eat whole grains and try to keep those low.....I DO eat alot of fruit though........could those cause me to retain also?
Thanks!

No not fruits, well bloating could be from the fibres but no water retention from fruits.

If you just started feeling bloated, could it be the monthly cycle us women love to get.

No, it's like a huge hot air balloon that's shaped like an american football. Maybe the staypuff marshmallow man (the white thing at the end of ghostbusters)would be comparable though. =)

Thanks for that skipper... ive been dieting well for a few weeks now and my midriff seemed to be getting bigger!! I love soy sauce and have it with every single thing that goes into my mouth, so maybe i will lay off the soy sauce n salt for a wee while and see if it has any effects.. If it do't make a difference, then i'll ponder on back and bug ya alla again !!
