I would save the money on the gainers. Most are loaded with sugars and different fillers just to add calories, which are empty calories. Your best bet is to just start on your good diet, take this as day one, and eat! Lots of good protein, complex, low glycemic carbs, (gaining you can even through in the goodies like ice cream or cream in your protein shakes, and healthy fats. Will go a long ways toward solid weight gains instead of just the pleasure of seeing the scale go up, which most of you will want off sometime later. You cannot make up lost time. Start today. Each day and each meal is an entity in itself. Good luck, glad to hear you are better.

You want a weight gainer? It's not going to throw you 3000 kcals of crap, but if you want something that will do you some good, try this:

16-24 oz. skim milk
2-3 tblsp natural peanut butter
.5 cup cottage cheese
40 g protein powder (preferably a single MRP serving, but why will do) - chocolate or vanilla
1-2 tblsp. of flax oil (I use Udo's Choice blend)
1 large banana

That will give you up to and over 1000 calories that you can actually use. I know bb1fit has posted something very similar to this here before.
