Hello all, i'm new to the site and trying to gain weight. I play soccer every other day and sometimes twice a day. I'm 6'2, and 145 pounds, so you all can see my dilema. I'm trying to put on weight so i can get up to where i feel comfortable wearing shorts off the field and so forth. I'm wondering, being that i am so active if i should be going over my calorie intake as listed on the site, and if i should cut back on all the cardio. They say that a soccer player, on the average, runs 10 miles per game. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as i'm tired of people telling me how skinny my legs are, or how can i kick the ball that hard with that skinny of legs.
Thanks guys,
Jason

Yes, you will need to track your calories and keep them fairly high to accommodate your sport. You can also beef up your legs by working them with weights.
Good luck Jason and welcome to FT!

HOOOOO YAAAA!
Another Vegas-ite, and a Rebel, no less!
Robert is right. Take a look at your calorie intake, as well as output, and let us know. You may need to up your eating, cut back other cardio, and do some mass/strength training. There are some great programs here, so take a look.
Another thing: we have one of the greatest strength and conditioning coaches in the country at UNLV, regular Top Five finisher for the World's Strongest Man competition - Mark Phillipi. He keeps a great department as well, so take advantage of what you may have at your disposal!
Good luck....... and go Scarlet and Gray!!!!!
