Hello all. I have a question. Is it normal to feel somewhat nauseous after drinking Whey Protein shakes? A little background; I am 25, Male, 6'3" tall and 160lbs. I have been lifting weights and drinking protein and colorie shakes to try and get my weight up to around atleast 180.
I have tried many brands and many different protein and colorie shakes but they all have the same result: a nauseous feeling in my stomach. Sometimes even if I don't take the shakes and do a hard workout, towards the end I can get to feel nauseous. But the shakes will do it everytime. I am in the military and routinely get good bill of health physicals and hardly ever get sick.
Any thoughts? Thanks.

IF its with milk that may be what causes it, milk can be unsettling during a workout in your stomach, try with water, or you may be semi lactose in tolerant.

I also thought about the lactose thing, but if I don't drink the shakes and drink a ton of milk i'm fine. I also eat cheese and yogurt regularly with no effects.
The make of the current shake i'm taking is Prolab N-Large2. "Mass gainer, 52g whey protein ultimate muscle mass formula". Ingredients: Whey protein concentrate, maltodextrin, fructose, cocoa powder, natural and artificial flavors and lechithin.

Are you drinking it with skimmed milk because if you drink it with semi skimmed it could make you feel a bit sick..... that was just a guess :)

I'm not a big fan of the in large 2 expensive for the serving size amount. takes like 3 scoops for that 52 g protein........could be the mix of sugers in it that upset your stomache.
could be old too

I find that whey mixed with water is ok, milk on it's own is ok, but the combination of milk and whey makes me feel a little nauseated. I think it's just the amount of protein. A small amount curbs my appetite, but a lot makes me feel sick :(
