Hi everyone. I started with this site almost 2 weeks ago and would like to say thanks to everyone who shares their knowledge. Right now I am following the program however I am consuming approximately 1600 calories per day(less than recommended.) I do very minimal cardio. I would not say I am overweight but I do have what I call skinny fat. Namely in my midsection. My question is should I do more cardio and tone before I begin packing on muscle? Or should train chiefly for mass in hopes that the body fat will convert? After reading some posts out here I believe the way I am doing things will lead to more lean muscle loss.
Yes, you should do cardio before packing on muscle. Do cardio until you think your the perfect size then start packing on muscle. If you start gaining muscle now, it wont show...lose the skinny fat first then begin with the muscles. :)
Just looked at your profile and you can't be a very big lady and are probably eating considerably less than you should be for fat loss. You need to cardio but more importantly you need to adjust your diet. I don't know what your caloric intake is but based on your post and your profile, you're setting yourself up for massive muscle loss and your body is going to store everything it can since your aren't feeding it enough. Wanna guess where the extra protein consumption is going to come from? :)
