I have a bowflex and I was wondering what the different bars on the bowflex are equivalent to in pounds. I know that a bar labled ten isn't really ten pounds of resistence. I was wondering if anyone knew what they are equivalent to. Thanks a bundle------------->Laura
How do you know for sure that they are not equivalent? While I don't necessarily train using cables alone, I think the Bowflex is a good piece of equipment for the novice who doesn't have much room for a traditional Olympic weight set-up. I don't doubt that it can get people into shape, but I always found variety to be the best training method overall.

I'm pretty sure that the weight one the bowflex and regular free weights are not the same. For example, doing one exercise with free weights with 10 lbs would probably not be the same as doing the same exercise with the same form with a bow labeled 10. I think that makes sense.
