I had a recent email from a member suggesting that it would be helpful/motivating to se what the moderators eat on an average day. So, I am starting this post and we will see who chimes in.-------------- Vitality shows not only in the ability to persist but the ability to start over. - F. Scott Fitzgerald |

Those golden little sponge cakes with the cream filled center....
Oh wait, that was in a galaxy far, far away and another lifetime! I seriously follow the bodybuilders grocery list. I use everything in there. It does not have to be boring, a bit of creativeness makes eating healthy a breeze....for instance....Lemon shrimp with Asparagus.... 8 ounces uncooked rotini or other small-shaped pasta 1/2 pound fresh asparagus 1/2 cup lemon juice 3 cloves garlic, minced 1 tablespoon brown sugar, packed 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 pound medium to large raw shrimp, cleaned with tail off (or 2 cups frozen, thawed shrimp) 1 cup sliced green onions 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese Salt and pepper to taste Wash asparagus and snap off tough larger ends. Cut asparagus in to bite-sized pieces. Cook pasta according to directions. During last couple minutes while pasta is cooking, add the asparagus and cook until crisp-tender. Drain and keep warm. Combine lemon juice, garlic, brown sugar, red pepper flakes and olive oil and mix well. Add shrimp and green onion and toss to coat. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-low heat until hot. Add shrimp mixture and cook over medium low heat until shrimp turns pink, 3-5 minutes. Add cooked pasta and asparagus and toss to coat. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and serve immediately. Makes 4 Servings Serving Size: 12 ounces -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

Chicken, lots and lots of chicken. Eggs, dozens and dozens of eggs, Chickens don't stand a chance.
On Sundays I cook Ron's and and my meals for the week, this is what I cook. Turkey Chili, at least 16 cups Chicken, at least 15lbs a five pound bag of broccoli 8 servings of Turkey spagetti and sometimes I make what I call dirty rice (Rice and ground turkey with salsa and green peppers and Onions) And for Breakfast (By the way he cooks that everyday) I have 4 egg whites and a cup of oatmeal (Although I did switch to sredded wheat for awhile) I don't know what he is having for breakfast these days, he will have to tell you (I am still in bed, I eat those eggs cold every morning:) ) -------------- THE NATURAL WAY IS THE ONLY TRUE PATH TO SUCCESS, PRIDE, JOY, HAPPINESS, LONG TERM FULFILLMENT AND SELF-ESTEEM! |
