what is creatine some of my friends told me to take it.but i dont know if its a steroid or not.if it is what should i take.help is appreciated:dumbbell:

Creatine is a compound produced by the body. It works with ATP in muscular contraction.

*** here is what creatin is and does......THis amino acid deriative particapates in engery production in the cells. Over 90% of the creatine is found ( in humans) in the muslce, much of which is conventrated in the form of creatine phosphate. Its concentration is especially high when large amounts of chemical engery is converted to mechinical engery. Creatine phos. serves as a store of engery in muscle, and it provides a reserve of high engery phosphates that can be rapidly mobilized to maintain the intercellular level of ATP.( main source of engery of all cells)
So this is like putting a high ocatane fuel in yoru car, its the same engine, just better performance and better gas milage. Its nto magical, it does not build muscle, but rather give you the extra engery ( fuel) to build muscle. Ex. on bench press day you can bench 225 for 5 reps and your dead after that, then maybe after you take creatine for a week or so, the next time you get 225 6 oralmost 7 times. Its giving you the abilty to rep more reps( more engery production) its just up to you to still work out, and get that one last rep!
