I'm just starting to work out and I am very confused. I am looking to lose about 50-60 pounds within the next year. On the personalized fitness plan, what exactly does the part in the target section mean. For example, on Monday I need to do machine squats and the 1st target is 20. Does this mean I need to do 20 of them or do I attempt 20 set of reps? If it's reps, how many actual machine squats do I attempt per set of reps? Please help!

A rep is a repitition of a given exercise. Your plan probably calls for 4 sets like 20,16,12,10...like that. This means you do the exercise 20 times, rest, then 16 times and so forth. The fisst set is for warm up. Do this with a light weight that you can easily finish 20 repititions. Then increase the weight slightly and do 16 repititions. By the time you get to the last set use a weight that you can barely finish the 10 repititions with. As you get stronger you increase the weight. Hope this helps.
-------------- A problem ceases to be such when you can laugh about it.
