This is my workout routine:

Monday - Legs, Bis, Tris
Tuesday - 40 minutes cardio
Wednesday - Chest, Back, Shoulders
Thursday - Cardio
Friday - Cardio
Saturday - Legs, Bis, Tris
Sunday - Rest

Each week I alternate between doing the M, W, Sa workouts so I am working legs twice a week and the next week it will be chest, back, and shoulders. I also work my Abs out twice per week.

The problem is, I am really not feeling any pain the day after a workout. Am I doing something wrong? How many different exercises should I do per muscle and how many sets of each? Also, should I max out on the weight during my routine and if so, during which set? Sorry about all of the questions, but I really wat to get maximum results.

First of all, pain should NEVER be used as a gauge as to how successful a workout is. Just because your not sore the next day doesn't mean you didn't work out hard. And, if you felt pain after EVERY workout, then you would probably have some serious issues. Simply lift as heavy and as intense as you can, and like I said, soreness and pain should not be used as a gauge.

No, no, I wasn't using pain as a gauge. I was just curious if I should be feeling soreness in the muscles that I work out. I gauge the success of my workouts based on the way my body looks. I want to get more definition in my arms and legs and I want to know what type of repititons and weight I should be lifting.
