Well I work my chest tri's, and delts all on the same day. Think about it. You push with your chest and also feel it in your tri's and delts. (A push pull method) Like, for instance Humans push with pecs, delts and tri's. and pull with Bi's and Lats and Triceps. So I work out each muscle group with the appropiate group. Hope that helps. Legs, the same way. Push and pull. Hamstrings pull and quads push.

A lot depends on how far advanced in training you are. You give no profile, so I can only guess since it is only your 6th post that you have not been doing this very long. As a beginner, what you are doing is fine, every other day and take weekends off. As you progress, get to imtermediate and beyond, then you will want to split things up a bit more like drew138 says. If you are progressing now, I would stay with what you are doing. When you feel you are not making any more gains, a good time frame to move on from that type of workout is 4-6 weks, then it is time to do so. The purpose of the beginning full body workout is just to get your body acclimated to weight training, so when you do move up and start putting more intensity into muscle groups, you will not get hurt so easily. Your ligaments and tendons are very weak at the start, and can be easily damaged without the proper acclimation.
