Hello, please could you advise me on what supplements I could take. I have just started training again after a 6 year lay-off. Previous to this I trained for 8 years using minimal supplements so I am not awfully well read up on them, although I am trying to become more educated. My goal is to put on steady lean muscle and I am following a tight well balanced nutrition program. Any advice please would be greatly welcome.

THe basics are really still the same. All the really important supplements haven't changed - protein, multivitamin. You could add an EFA (fish oil) supplement, which is always good for you. Of course, there's creatine (as you well know). Glutamine's not necessary and my opinions are mixed on it, but I think it's a good overall supplement. Most everything else is a little unnecessary and a lot of it won't do you any good. Did you have anything specific in mind?

Thanks mackfactor. I was thinking along the lines of "creatine, glutamine and a good whey product". It's interseting that you do not think glutamine is all that nescessary. I take what you say about an EFA supplement which I hadn't thought. Bearing in mind I am from the UK and the range of products we have over here are limited any recomendations as to where I can purchase quality supplies?
