Ok, this has been about the worst my season could have possibly been this year. First, I injure my achilles tendon during a summer league game. Next, I injure the socket of my hip which I'll probably have to have surgery on post-season, I just got over strep-throat and I wake up this morning with a majorly swollen knee that came outta nowhere! it's like swollen on the side and on the tendon on the bottom (jumper's knee area). Man all I've been doin the past 3 days is resting, so I know it's not like overuse or anything. All I know is it's really random and my season is like shot to hell now. I just am tired of being at the doctor's office. Anyone had a similar knee problem before?

Aron take a deep breath...

I think there could have been a chain effect....you injure tendon...start to move differently to avoid reinjuring achilles tendon, hurt hip.....then u further walk/run differently and injure your knee...etc....can't quite connect strep throat here but u get my point....I am sorry you're having a bad run like this...but hopefully it will get better....

have you tried cissus? it is purported to work wonders on for tendons....and helps speed up bone healing etc...

what happened to your hip? did you get a clear diagnosis of the problem? don't do any unnecesary surgery....doctors often make people go through unneeded surgeries to make a quick buck....if you do decide to do it...go to several doctors.....

Ice the knee...do the whole RICE method....

Wow. Sounds like every one of my high school wrestling seasons.
Seriously, injuries happen. Sometimes more so to the advanced athletes than the novices. The mark of a well rounded athlete is the ability to recover from these injuries without losing a whole lot.

And I agree with everything menace said. I would even go a step further, and agree with something he usually says, and recommend fish oil, but then I have never used it, and I don't recommend anything I don't have experiance with, so I will say it might be a good idea to look into it.

Yea Fish Oil is trully amazing...my diet and training fluctuate...quite a bit at times...I am getting over a nasty cold myself...and it helps preserve muscle mass....it also helps with inflammation in the tissues so definitely give it a try...I'd say it's top 5 supplement...

Also remember that you should be 100% when u get back or very close to it...otherwise you risk reinjuring yourself or getting another nasty injury of some form...many athletes are in such a rush to get back ont he court/field after injuries that reinjuries are inevitable....make sure this is not the case for you...

Well, the achilles tendon injury this summer was from where I got pushed and landed on it backwards (like the opposite of a hyper extension). The hip injury sustained was from slipping on a chair and it threw my leg way out the wrong way, and the knee was some kinda fluke that was probably related to the strep throat infection or my body reacting to medicines, etc. Menace, I take Cissus and I like to think that I take pretty good care of my body with proper post-pre workout routines and nutrition. Most of these injuries are just complete random accidents. Anyways, the strep throat's pretty much gone and my hip should hold up the rest of the season, and my knee is getting better from the infection or whatever was in it.

For some details on the hip, more than likely there is some good damage done to the ligaments in the socket. I can play on it, but will more than likely need surgery. The Cissus pretty much takes care of the achilles tendons. I was just makin a point that it seems all my training's resukts and advantagese have nearly failed because of so many injuries. It's like I never can have a completely healthy body or fresh legs.

i would definately get into a sports injuries clinic as soon as possible, after your surgery or whenever. it almost sounds like each injury is just building on the previous one. sometimes athletes adapt for one injury, which compromises other areas and makes them susceptible to injuring something else.
