alright im on the 12 week mass special and trying to gain mass. i know that some of it will have to be fat if i want to make serious gains. but does it make a difference what time i lift? like i heard that first thing is good because your hormone levels are high and you burn more fat. but will going without eating in over 8 hours keep me from making the most gains? or does it not matter?

why wouldn't you be able to eat in over 8 hours? cause of your job? If so, take food with you and eat a couple small protein packed meals or some protein bars. Let me know.

Within an hour or so of waking is fine. I wake, take vitamins and make some eggs. (wake take make?) Then go lift and youll be fine. that is true about the hormone levels. good!-snow

but snow your not supposed to lift with food in your stomach. you want all the blood going to your muscles not being used to digest your food.

go for a meal replacement or a regular meal about an hour before your workout. The way I see it, you need some energy for that 8 week program...and to get it you have to atleast consume something even if its hours before the workout.
