I assume you are speaking of canned tuna. If so, then what I have been doing is taking it straight from the can (2.6oz), mixing it with a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, add mustard, black pepper, and hot sauce then stir and eat. I find it to be quite tasty. Just in case you are worried, or unaware, the tuna is cooked already, so you aren't eating anything raw.

Question about fish. I hear that some fish can raise the mercury levels in your body which can cause dizziness. Is tuna a fish that cause increase in mercury. I sometimes find myself a little dizzy on some workout days and I don't know if it is from tuna or lack of energy.

Have you tried the Star Kist Tuna Creations? They're flavored and in pouches. Now, some do have sugar, so read your labels. But mixed in with leftover cooked veggies, yum!
When I was stationed in the Mediterranean with the Navy, they often made a salad of romaine, tomatoes and onion with tuna on top, dressed with good olive oil and vinegar. Good too. |

If you are going to be cooking a tuna steak..
in a bowl, mix together (in no exact meaurements), a little bit of extra virgin olive oil, some soy sauce (more soy then olive oil), about 2 teaspoons of honey, and some freshly ground ginger.. mix it all up and rub it on the tuna.. Then let it marinate for about 30 minutes or so and then throw it on the grill, or a frying pan if you just want to sear it. Tuna does not take that long to cook, so it will be done pretty quickly . It has a little asian kick to it, and it tastes great and is healthy.. If you are sodium consious, then use low sodium soy sauce. |

Wish i could find the exact recipe, but here it is from memory - Tuna patties
green onions, chopped can'o tuna, drained whole wheat bread crumbs, 1/4 c (?) 1/2c cottage cheese 1 egg salt, pepper Mix all, form patties, cook in non-stick pan. Better than they sound! Otherwise - i eat my tuna over salad greens, dressed with udo's perfect blend oil , pressed garlic and salt and pepper. Or - mixed with cut up veggies and a little olive oil. Or sometimes I chop up green olives and add a little safflower mayo.... in a hurry - straight from the can! -------------- If you fall down seven times, get up eight. I found this on the Dave Draper website - there is a recipe forum...
"I just tried something in the Foreman grill. It was quick and tasty (sounds like a bad porno film) 1 can (6 oz. solid white tuna drained) 1 egg, beaten 3 Tbls of salsa 1 cup cooked brown rice garlic bread crumbs Mix it all up and form into four patties. I only used enough bread crumbs to get it to stick together. Preheat the grill for a couple of minutes and cook for 4 minutes. (I sprayed the grill with Pam spray oil.) It was a good change of pace from just plain old tuna and only took about 10 minutes from start to finish. Even my 7 year old son tried it and thought it was good! albcore isn't inferior, but it does have more mercury than the non-albacore, according to the studies I have read. You would have to eat an awful lot of it for that to be a problem, though.-------------- If you fall down seven times, get up eight. \"Inscribe this on the charm that dangles from your navel, girls. but isn't the protein lower, and the calories higher?? I was reading the labels one day, and it just seemed that it wasn't worth it to get the albacore. It's been a while, so don't quote me on the stats. -------------- A broken clock is right twice a day |

Okay, I made those tuna patties last night.
Tuna, cottage cheese, one egg, bread crumbs, garlic powder, pepper, green onion all mixed together and baked them in a non-stick frying pan. They were very good. One thing that should be mentioned it the patties must be made thin because for a frying pan they don't cook through very well due to the lack of fat and grease. -------------- - Its never about how much you can lift, or how many reps you do.
