I'm still not sure I'm using my weight amount correctly. I know have 2 -3 -5 - 8 & 10lb dumbells. Doing can curls, I barely feel the 15 with 3lbs, 15 with 5 is very doable, 12 with 8 is work and 10 with 10lb is max - so I'm ok here right?

The lateral lifts: I can barely feel the 15 with 3lb,s the 15 with 5lbs are comfortable, the 12 with 8 are too much, I can only get to 8 or 9 before losing form completely - recommendations???

As always thanks for any input,
Pam

Do a second set with the 5 lbs, or try holding the 5's and the 2's together (sort of criss-cross the handles and grab around both), 7lbs may be doable where 8 is not.

Stay with a weight until you can complete all of the sets no problem, then go up on the first set next workout. Gradual progression helps prevent injuries. Stop when your form breaks. As long as you get 6-8 reps before your form breaks you are still getting a productive workout.

If you fall down seven times, get up eight.
