I just started training 2 weeks ago and wanted to know when is the best time to start using Creatine. And does the other stuff to take with Creatine (I think it's glutamine) really improve gain considering my priority is mass gain, not strengh or endurance. |

Before you start using creatine, I recommend that you continue your training for at least another month. In that time you should get to know the exercises, and some understanding of your body. The best thing you can do for mass gain is to eat more, but if after a couple of months the gains aren't happening, then maybe its time to start using creatine |

Well for you the time to use creatine is not yet.Get used to picking up weights, get to know the techniques right.....do some reading. You see, itll have to become a part of your life before you can excell in it. And about glutamine, yes its good.It prevents your muscles to go into catabolic state. Right now the best supp. for you will be whey protein.Spend a few months in the gym and then think about creatine. In body building, you have to be patient. |

If you are truly a beginner to this sport then learn the exercises, breathing, control of the weight, and how your body responds to weight training before progressing to supplementation. Once you know proper form and work with it then increase your intensity,i.e reps/sets and decrease rest time. After this learning stage then you will be ready to add supplements to your nutritional routine. Try also to find someone to work out with that can help with your form, etc. as this is most important to growth. |

Is there a downside to using creatine, since you recommand to wait before using it. Or is it just that it won't bring significant gains before i learn to train properly. |

I just think that you should get to know the exercises properly first, just so you can get an idea of what lifting weights is all about, and also how you as an individual respond to your training, and even whether you think that you can keep if it. I've known quite a few people who have given up their training after a couple of months cause they haven't seen instant results... anyway thats my opinion, good luck |

Ok, thanks. And i know what you mean. 1 year ago, i've trained for 3 month. But i was in an intership at Corel, so having a routine to fit training wasn't a problem. As soon as i got back to university, i didn't find the time to train anymore. Since i'm again in a intership and will be getting back to school in 3 months, same thing might well happen. But the thing is, i don't plan to train hard all my life and keep getting bigger and bigger, just want to get some gain to have an acceptable appearance by my criteria, and then just maintain it. Speaking of which, how much work is it to maintain to gains already worked, 1-2 times a week? |

Without strength, you will never gain muscle mass. |

I do am aware of the fact that "With mass come strength", what I actually meant was : "Does Glutamine really improve mass, or does it only affect endurance/strength without real gain in mass". |

well I'm definitely no expert in the field, but I've read that glutamine prevents your body from going into a catabolic state, meaning that your body won't start eating muscle when your asleep |

Creatine actually gives you the ability to gain strength and mass through endurance, it doesn't actually build muscle, glutimine is used to fight the calibolic state your muscle go through after a workout. both basic supplements evry bodybuillder should be taking. |
