I am wondering what sort of weight I should be starting with - I have my own set of Free weights and bench, and I have got my workout plan from here, and I can't wait to get started, just not sure how hard to start. I only weight 55 kg (121 lb).
Thanks in advance for any advice.

workout with a weight that allows you to complete the required reps yet leaves you really pushing for those last couple with time comes your knowledge of where to start and how high or low, always start low and dont push it too hard at first that is why most begginer programs are higher repped

What sort of pain are you speaking of? If it is being sore the next day, first try drinking more water during the day, you can take some tylenol or soemthing like that if it is too bad. Or you can try to do some light exercise for what is sore, eg. if your legs are sore take a short walk to get the blood flowing through them.

Be sure you are stretching before and after exercise. That should help keep the pain down a little too.

A light warmup before exercise is better than stretching. Start with very light weight and do a few warmup reps prior to lifting heavier.
Stretching afterwards is fine.
