Hi. I've been using 100% whey protein for sometime now. It seems to be good stuff. The directions say u mix it with water, but the clerks at the gnc store told me its better to mix with milk, and i agree, plus ull get more protein that way. Obv. U can mix with anything really if u want, but i mix it with milk. So this person who thinks she knows what shes talking about but probably doesnt, tells me that mixing it with milk defeats the whole purpose of it, by the sugars and fat in the milk diluting the protein. This sounds like a bunch of bullshit! Am i right??????

Actually when i goto the gym, i bring my own protein in, u know the 100% whey brand i was talking about earlier, and the guys at the desk there mix it with apple juice. Id say thats a pretty decent combination. What do u think? Thanks for ur answer!

Kev99, Although apple juice is better than just water and especially better than milk, you would benefit much better by using dextrose/maltodextrin (50/50). Depending on your goals, use what is appropriate. The high glycemic index in dextrose (simple carb) and maltodextrin (complex carb, but easy to break down) will give you an insulin spike and help in the process of protein synthesis as well as top off your glycogen stores.

The trick is insulin sensitivity. To be more sensitive to insulin you need to cut out all simple carbs from your diet except for that moment immediately after your workout.
