Hi molinare51x, welcome to FT. First of all, according to several posts it is nearly impossible to burn fat and add mass at the same time. I would suggest taking the whey protein twice a day: post workout and pre bed.
Try getting all the protein grams you need from natural sources (foods such as tuna, chicken, turkey breast).
Hope this helps,

I thought it was weight loss and mass, I don't want to lose any more weight, I still have some fat I need to burn off.

molinare, you can burn fat and add mass at the same time, it's just hard to do. in the past month i've actually lost 6 lbs of fat and added 3 lbs of muscle, but i've had an extremely strict diet and lifting plan.
i use whey immediately after my workout, and sometimes i'll put it in my oatmeal at breakfast. the rest of my protien i get from natural food or the occasional mrp when i'm running short on time. i usually consume 170-200g a day on a 2300 calorie diet (i weigh about 167).
adding lean tissue will burn fat naturally because muscle is your primary metabolic source. however, your diet has to be super clean for this to actually work. no junk, no processed meat, no refined sugar, etc, because it's very hard to have a negative energy balance and get the nutrients you need to add mass.
-------------- success comes before work only in the dictionary. that's right.
