I was thinking like you could do 10 sets of like 5 one day, with a lot of weight, like a challange for you, then the next day do like 20 sets of 10, but with like no weight, like the bar and like 5 lbs. on each end to like define what you built the previous day? After a while would this work?

10 sets for one muscle, if that's what you mean, with high loads is way too much..

I've been doing that for a while. Hows that too much? 10 sets of 10, ain't that hard. It gives you a burn...

I don't think that's like a good idea. If you are doing 10 sets of 10 you are not lifting heavy enough.

50 lbs. curls? im only 145 lbs. then I do like 20 lbs. 20 times, 10 sets. Seems to work pretty damn good. My arms are getting bigger and bigger everyday :) ...

I personally like the ten sets workout. Any new way of training is another weapon to ad to your arsenal. The key is to recognize when your body adapts to a given program, and to change your workout at this point in such a way that your muscles have to start the adaptation process all over again. I like to come off of a high volume low weight regimen and go to heavy compound movements with low reps and longer rest periods between sets. Keep your muscles guessing!

On the other hand, it's been said that for gaining mass, nothing is as effective as heavy weights, which requires lower reps/sets.
