just thought id take a quick poll as to why everyone does it. Why do you do powerlifting? What is it about this sport that makes you so passionate about it????

I started powerlifting as a way to get stronger for wrestling. However, now I do because of the feeling I get for those 2-3 seconds im under the bar straining with everything I can to move the bar so slowly. I guess I love the looks I get weighing about 135lbs and lifting with the guys twice my size, and doing the same weight they do with better form. Thats a great feeling. To see how people react when they relize that you dont have to be big to be strong. I guess thats my main reason. to prove everyone else wrong.

I do it, cause I found out a while ago......I don't think my genetics are quite cut out for bodybuilding........and I like food too much. I also found out most bodybuilders aren't as strong as they look. But again their are still some aspects of bodybuilding I like.
And it just seems so "natural " to me for some reason. I mean I do half the reps most guys do........and i'm just as big if not bigger than they are.

I love the feeling of being able to lift big amounts of weight...to be fighting with every muscle fiber for that rep with all my strength....I also like the benefit it gives me...of being able to space my workouts...i recover very very very slowly...so by doing very low volume at very high intensity I can do my bodypart workouts once every 2-3 weeks ....but then i do bodybuilding style bodypart splits and powerlifting style reps and choice of exercise...I also like that I can do 6-12 sets in 2 hours....and get great results....

My quest for god like strength. it's sort of a animalistic need for dominance over the humans lol.
