What program did you choose? Bench and curls aren't the be-all end-all of a program.

12 week mass program. i figured if i'm going to do this i'ma doing it right.
i thought benching and curling was one of the must do's for building mass

Not really. Bench to some extent, but curls really have nothing to do with building mass. The money makers are squats, deadlifts, rows, pull-ups, overhead press, bench press...compound movements. The more muscle an exercise recruits the more growth hormones it will produce in your body.
