wild rice = jaw ache

for my dinner today (packed lunch for work) i am having wild rice, quorn pieces, lettuce cucumber, tomato and a hard boiled egg. I only cooked the rice for 10 mins, and i read (while a had just put a huge mouthful of rice in my mouth) that you're supposed to cook it for 1hr!

It's like eating twigs.


However, I am taking solace in the fact that I feel smug about my healthy dinner, while my colleagues stuff there faces with chips, pasties, beans and general rubbish. Ha!

You may want to try mixing the wid rice with brown rice to avoid some of the "twiggy" feeling. Works well for me at least.
