Hi I'm new to the forum and I'm also new to this business of rowing. It looks like it's going to be very physically gruelling, but surprisingly most of the training is designed to boost your endurance and not your strength.

At the moment I target each muscle group twice a week (translating into 4 sessions in the gym a week) but if I commit to rowing there's absolutely no way I can keep that up.

My question is: will it be enough to exercise each muscle group just once a week? Of course I'll be using my core, back and legs a lot just by being in the boat, so I'm referring to my upper body in particular (arms, chest and shoulder).

Any advice greatly appreciated.
