Hi everyone. Im a 4th year Electrical Engineering major. Lets say that I have been getting the freshmen 15, well 30 in my first year, every year since I started college. I lost a few lbs before and somewhat maintain my weight at 175 lbs. By the way, I'm 5'4.5".

I've decided to give this site a spin and a friend recommended it to me. My sister got engaged last week and I was appointed maid of honor and the wedding is October 2007 and it is going to be in Maui. My sister is also determined that I will wear a spaghetti strap beach-type dress which won't be kind to my arms right now. I don't have an exact goal in how much I want to lose, but I want to go down at least 2 dress sizes...hopefully.Wish me luck! :)

Good Luck !! A good clean diet with both weight training and cardio should do the trick. Stay patient as it will take some time.

Good Luck...you've got a great time frame to develop some great, lifelong eating and exercise habits.

Not sure if this is suppose to go to this category or I should move this to another category. If so, please point me to the right direction.:)

I have finished week one and I can say I can see some results. I actually weighed 176.8 according to the electronic scale at the gym and when I weighed myself today out of curiosity, I weight 174.5. That really made my day.

I think its also because I made a few changes in my life besides working out. I am eating smaller meals most of the time. I mean most of the time because I tend to eat fast food once a day since it is right across the street from campus and my apt is a qtr away from the school. I also take the stairs instead of the elevator when I'm reading or studying in the library. Hopefully I can get to the 3rd floor from the 1st floor without getting winded again. Also I am walking to campus instead of taking the shuttle...well its also I haven't figured out the new shuttle schedule because there are 5 different routes instead of the original 3 from last year.

Hopefully I can stick with the program that I am on now when midterms and finals roll by. Its easy right now because school just started 2 weeks ago.

I've been vigilant on my plan so far and its working out great. I was worried I was going to slack off later on because the wedding is a year away but I have another motivation right now. I have TWO weddings to go to in Feb.: a cousin is getting married in Beliz and one of my friends in Utah. Also there is also my mom's nursing school reunion in Vegas in June. There is a group of friends, that are the kids of my mom's classmates that I've made over the years and I only get to see them every 3 years.:( Im am going to travel a lot next year  It's going to be a challenge with being fit while traveling a lot but I will worry about that later.
