just wondering... what are the benefits of a chest workout for women? i was just thinking that while it really "shows" for men, not so much for women. i'm sure it's good for you, i'd just like to know why.

That's a good question. I feel the same way--I work my chest to keep everything balanced but aesthetically it doesn't do much. Maybe once we've reduced our bodyfat so much that we have no more breasts, then we'll be able to see the muscle. How's that for a small consolation?

It does give you a little lift because you build muscle under the breast tissue. It also can give you some nice definition in your cleavage.
Upper body strength is important for your dailty activities of life, too. You need to work all of the muscles in your body to be the most functional. You use your chest anytime you are pushing something away from you, bring something in towards your midline, many daily movements benefit from a strong chest muscle group.
