Hello all my name is Alan. What a wonderful resource the internet has become. And this site certainly has the potential to empower. Enuff dribble. I am 35 years old and recovering from years of self medicating with alcohol and nicotene. Up until I was 28 I was very fit and playing contact sports. That is until degenerative arthritis in my ankles settled in. It was all over for me and I was left with a very willing spirit trapped indide a body that wouldnt let me run. Early afterwards I continued to deny but broke down everytime. So for the last 5 years I have focussed on my career instead. Sadly my inattention to my health has nearly cost me my family, love for my job and my happiness AND I WANT IT BACK GODDAMMIT. Happy to sya the nicotene is gone and the alcohol tempered. Luckily for me i didnt become too physically addicted, and I can face the fact that my sporting career would be over by now anyway. Still hurts though. Yet the pain of regret is stronger if I dont start right now and set my path to a healthy mind, body and soul. Look forward to reading your posts and hopefully I could contribute as I ama Medical Scientist with a sound understanding in the scientific fundamentals.
Cheers from Australia
