As I think it is mentioned in my profile .. I am a student in college taking a Correctional Worker Program. My goal is to become a Correctional Officer (for those who aren't sure of the job of a Correctional Officer .. its a Prison Guard). Now I need to be in shape for this job and right now i am well my physical state is I'll say just a touch below average. Lately I have been real serious about getting in shape. My question is this. I have one profile in Freetrainers for my gym workouts. Would it be a bad thing to create a second nick name and setup a profile for home workouts and follow both programs? I am currently going to the gym 4 days a week through this account. Would I be over doing it if I started a second account and ran a home excersize program at the same time? You will probably end up overtraining. When you say you are just a touchh below average, how are they rating that? Maybe perhaps up your cardio to get in a 10 min mile.I know in the canadian forces that is a pre req. But definately don't follow 2 programs. Btw hows the kingston pen? lol -------------- Nothing is too small to know, and nothing is too big to attempt! Ivan Montreal Canada |

Well .. on the treadmill I can do 1 mile in 10.5 minutes ... And I have ran a 1.5 mile course in 15 minutes ... mind you I walked 1/4 of it because I got shin splintsa but I did it in that time.Mark -------------- He Who controls the past, commands the future. Get your leg stregnth up and get good shoes. It will be a great help for the shins, if you do seated calf raises and alternate with standing, its a good solution.-------------- Nothing is too small to know, and nothing is too big to attempt! Ivan Montreal Canada |

Thanx I'll remember that .. First looking up how to do seated calf raises. As for good shoes .. I have some sportek shoes I bought at .. geez i don't know where.. Probably Zellers. I am a student and unfortunately to some bad school choices a few years ago I am banned from using OSAP our Student Loans service for a while. So my schooling is completely out of my pocket and Have no money to spend on better shoes. Right now I don't run but uuse the treadmil or a crosstrainer for my cardio .. but in the spring i plan to be back on my running routine or atleast get it started again. Thanx for the advice Mark -------------- He Who controls the past, commands the future. He who commands the future, conquers the past. - Kane |

Zellers carries Brooks and Reebok as well, That is where I usually get my shoes....for about $40 (they are just last year's style) OSAP sucks! (and sucks the life outta you) |

Yeah .. but OSAP has put me on Probation .. I cannot get OSAp so my school is paid right out of my pocket .. I'm lucky to scrap 2 dollars from my parents for coffee in the morning let alone 40 for shoes. I am sorta enjoying paying off school out of pocket... I figure this way .. when i graduate I'll have no debts to worry about so I think even though my probation from OSAP will be lifted next school year I will still not use OSAP. So when I start running again I'll start off at a slow pace and work my way faster with the shoes I have .. all it will take is working to a faster pace slowly and not rushed. Hey Marx, So your taking Correctional Worker I see. I'm Taking a Similar course..Police Foundations. I'm doing the same thing you are getting in better shape. But to answer your question I think if you started a program at hoome you would be overworking some muscles and could end up losing some muscle. Good Luck oh Yah (OSAP SUCKS...I know how you feel)Jake |
