BCAA's really shine on a calorie restricted diet. Your body will cannabalize your muscles for them, much more so than using fat. For protection against this, supplementing at this time is a must. If you are not dieting(low calories), and are taking in plenty of nutrients, these will not benefit you as well. Full spectrum aminos on the other hand will. Taken with meals to optomize the amino acid profile of whole food, and right after training is a good practice. A favorable nitrogen state is what we are after, and nothing produces better. Make sure they are peptide bonded, not free form. They help dramatically in increases in recovery from training. They are in fact the optimal source for building lean tissue.
