I injured my left wrist from doing upright rows on the smith machine about 2 weeks ago. As I pulled the bar near my chin it became too heavy and went back down fast while i was holding it and my left wrist has been feeling a strain ever since.
I for the most part dont feel the strain when im rotating the wrist in circular motion. I feel it mostly when i am holding a hammer curl grip and moving my wrist downwards in a chop motion.
I feel it most when im doing bicep curls or pull ups otherwise im fine when doing bench press etc.
Does anyone have any advice on what I should do?

For one stop using the smith machine for upright rows. Let it rest and take some advil, avoid those movements that make it hurt. GIVE IT TIME TO HEAL.

I'd just stop doing upright rows period.
It's probably just a strain. Take care of it, and don't do it again. Rest, maybe a compressive sleeve.

by any chance do you happen to know how long it takes to recover on average.
its frustrating not being able to workout harder

Even if I knew the "average", the variance is so great it wouldn't help you.
