Is there a "correct" way to use these?? I've just started using wrist straps while doing deadlifts (to lift heavier) ... Thanks!

i never like the use of wrist straps: they only take away from your forearm strength. i believe they are over-used, alot like belts. if you have a slipping problem with the bar, then try chalk.
if you want to go heavier on deadlifts, but cant because you cant hold onto it, work on your grip first; dont ignore a weakness and try to work around it. taking short-cuts will only hurt you in the long run.

I agree! Belts and straps can hurt you. That said, I do use straps on my deadlifts and heavy shrugs.....but only on the last set. Only then if I can not grip it anymore.

Almost forgot, since I have a smaller hand I found the usual wrist straps to be not helpful. I found a strap call Versa-grip, they have a web site and can be found in most sports stores they are easier to use than traditional straps. and have the added advantage to work as a pad for you hand as in for curls and bench presses if you use gloves. goto bodytrends.com they are on that web site

Thanks for the input guys! One more question ... my grip gives out after 8 reps @ 135, but with straps, I can add another 20 lbs. As I've started a mass programme (lots of 6 & 4 rep sets) should I do more reps @ a lighter weight, or use the straps anyway???
