I saw some 1.5 lb weights at Walmart earlier that go on the hand/wrist area. Would getting these and wearing them while I'm on the treadmill be beneficial? I want to get rid of the jiggle under the upper part of my arm. I know that with time the weight part of my routine will tighten it up. I just thought that if this would help burn more calories during the cardio part, then I'd get them.
Thoughts? Thanks! :)

I wear mine when I'm doing my glider, the way I figure it, the added weight should help something! I move my arms a lot on the glider and I assume you do the same. Here is something that I found that says not to: I'd like to here what asimmer and others have to say on this since I wear them, too.

Will I get a better workout if I wear a weighted vest or hold light weights when I walk on my treadmill?
We do not recommend using dumbbells, wrist weights or ankle weights when walking. Using weights when walking increases your risk of injury. Holding weights can strain your neck and shoulders and makes it difficult to maintain correct arm movement and posture. Also, weights that are light enough to hold when walking are not heavy enough to increase your strength. Ankle weights may cause you trip and fall and can alter your stride causing muscle strain. Why take the chance when there is little benefit and greater risk of injury? A weighted vest is safe to use while walking but is probably not all that beneficial. If you are using weights to increase the intensity of your walking workout, we recommend that you walk at a slightly faster pace or include some hills on your route. You may also consider using a heart rate monitor or timing yourself to accurately measure the intensity of your walking workout. This will give you an objective way to increase your pace if you need a greater challenge.

I have read in other posts here, that your are placing undo stress on the joints with added weights like that. The amount of extra resistance is not going to make that much of a difference in weight loss or strength gains.

Thanks Veda and mmaibohm!!
I don't need any more undo stress on my joints. I think I've frightened them enough from my first work out on Monday!! :)
That was some great advice from the article you posted, Veda!!
