i recently bought a pack of xylitol (natural sugar substitute) and decided to make some sugar free brownies with it. The packet says you can use it in the same amounts u would for sugar...so i put 1 cup xylitol for the 1 cup suagr my recipe asked for....but it came out tooth-achingly sweet! A friend of mine who was round also tried it, and he found it way too sweet even though he's one of the most sweet-toothed people i know. Then i did some research and found out if u use white flour you halve the amount of xylitol u use. Is this true? would this work? how would white flour change anything??...if u have any experience with xylitol please help me out!

Never used xlitol for baking, but I would imagine it would have to be "cut" with something.

One great thing about xlitol, great for the gums.
