Whos that doing 675 raw bench? that form looks pretty shaky....i mean the person is using almost no arch it seems and the legs are poorly positioned...i mean is that for real? that's 40lb from Mendys record 715 ....and that guy could come pretty close if he just tweaks his form a bit......?

Or he could change his form and be back to working to break 6.
I do believe it is Glen Chabot, and while he does not arch much, you can bet he is tight.

Possible, but I believe unlikely. By using a big arch you're decreasing the range of motion so the lift should become easier not harder. Using an arch also helps dig shoulders/butt into the bench better and create better body tension. I also hate how he positions his feet. I think he would have more power drive if they are at his sides or dug underneath him. He might as well raise his legs in the air. His left foot MOVES during the freaking lift...are you kidding me? I am convinced this guy could break Mendys raw record if he changes his mechanics...

I would LOVE if we had 2 guys competing again for the raw record....

Oh yeah....he's using 45s....switch a few 50kilo plates on and the bar bend is less...since the plates are thinner and dont stretch to the ends of the bar as much....less bend=more strength.....this guy could def challenge the raw record with a few tweaks....

Not sure how to count colored plates...how much is that little asian guy doing for power clean?...

620 double atg front squat...is pretty nasty....

just an awesome mix....

I know why we use an arch.

He was chasing the world record for a while.
Its a gym lift, and it works for him.

As for colored plates, a red is usually 25kg or 45lbs, blue is 35lbs or 20 kg, yellow is 15kg or 25lbs, green is usually 10kg or 10lbs.
Don't hold me to any of that.

Thats what I was thinking. He's jumping to neck level...

Kinda unrelated, but I have never been a sprinter or a jumper. In high school, I was the kid they'd pick after the fat white kids... Well just for shits and giggles we had a box jump contest. I won, and by quite a margin. All without training for that kinda stuff. Anyone that says that heavy lifting and oly lifting dont make you faster and bring up vert can eat that.

Yea that was pretty crazy also....

For me a fairly small guy doing a very deep AT squat with 705 was pretty impressive...as was 551 for reps and then toss overhead after being finished...

I don't think I've ever done box jumps like that. One thing I like to do just for the heck of it is jump onto ledges for height, but land with straight legs so you know you're getting that high off the ground. It actually could be a better way to measure vertical than against a wall or something like that, but my favorite way to measure is on a basketball hoop. My reach is exactly 8 feet, so I know that if I get my whole hand over the rim, I'm jumping close to 30 inches off the ground.
