I noticed that we have a whole bunch of new people here that have not really told us veterans much about themselves. So I thought I would start a thread telling about myself and see if you all would like to jump on the bandwagon.
My name is Hector. I am 27 years old, married with 2 kids. I am in the Marine Corps and have been for 10 years. I started working out seriously in 98 and I have been doing it on and off ever since. My hobbies include, basketball, softball, football, reading, spending time with my wife, and spending time with family. I am sarcastic, so if I offend anyone, tough. I look forward to hearing more about the rest of you. -------------- You can cover up the flaws on your body, but there is no hiding a flawed personality. |

my name is adam, i am apparently a tart. i will apologise now for iritating you as it is probably not on purpose. ive been working out for about a year and a half. i dont really play sport any more, mostly due to my knees, which are broken. music took over from sport, so i bought a guitar and taught myself, and now i play guitar in a punk/pop/emo/ska band, and sing a bit too. we should get some music on the web soon, so you will all be able to laugh at me. i like milk.

Technically I am not new, but I never posted a thread in the newbies forum so here I am. I have been working out inconsistanly for about a year, and just recently have started to buckle down and am hoping for results sometime soon. I get along with most everyone (hec is the exception, but we have an understanding)so feel free to send me a message and say hi!!

Sure, what the hell. I can play nice. :)
My name is Daniel. I am 29, married, have one gorgeous three year old girl, and one more child on the way. I graduated with my BSN in 97, worked in the ICU for 5 years, and now have the wonderful distinction of a desk job at an insurance company. Beyond that I am a photographer and will be having my first gallery opening in December, which is kind of exciting, but a considerable amount of work. Presently, I live in Portland, Oregon, but was raised in Kansas City, MO, as well as, a stint in between Houston and Galveston and a year in Tulsa. I have been working out on and off since my 1993, but have still managed to gain a significant amount of weight (some of us are just blessed :( ) However, in the last year I have been able to lose thirty pounds and a whole lot more fat, but I still have about twenty more to go. Well, that is what it is. Daniel Love |

i'm tracy, 29 yrs (nearing the Big 30) and i live near Glasgow, Scotland. I've been with my girlfriend Gill for over 3 years now and we've been in our first house for a year. I've been a police officer now for 3 years.
i've been involved in lots of different sports over the years - swimming club, Tae Kwon Do and then a football team (soccer, in case I confuse anyone). I've also done weights on and off for a few years and I'm only getting into it seriously since starting on this site. Hopefully with the help of the info on this site I'm looking to get my nutrition on level and get the body/strength I want. :dumbbell: |

My vocation is cabinet maker and commercial developer. My avocation is trying to get Adam to use capital letters at the start of his sentences and tormenting Cristalbelle. I'm a licensed master , married 24 years. My wife is an FT member as well.
I've lifted weights longer than most of you have been alive but just started doing it properly and eating sanely since I joined FT. I'm not as hardcore as many here but I'm fit, I've lowered my cholesterol and blood pressure big time since joining. We live in Charlotte NC, home of the 2004 NFC champion Carolina Panthers. Eagles Suck. We plan on taking our traveling the eastern waters of the US and up the Mississippi in the next few years and hope to meet some of the crazies here. -------------- I drive way too fast to worry about cholesterol Charlie | |

I'm Julienne, married to Hector and mother to our boys. I am a master stylist and creative designer and just recently opened a salon and day spa here in Virginia.
My hobbies are coffee, my work and my family, football, bowling, traveling and talking, in no particular order. Since being on this site, I have learned more about fitness than I ever knew exsisted. i'm 22, i live in houston, and work as an online editor for the 7th largest newspaper in the country. i was a journalism major at texas a&m, but after i bail myself out of debt i am going to head to law school. i've been lifting religiously for 18 months, during which i've lost 30lbs and dropped my bodyfat down to 17%. lifting is my #1 free time activity, but i also play basketball, football, baseball, soccer, tennis and i mountain bike. needless to say, i'm an athlete by nature. i also taught myself how to play guitar and have been at it for 9 years. radiohead, modest mouse, ani difranco, air, sigur ros, and coldplay make my musical world go 'round. i once told someone that catherine zeta jones was my aunt, and they belived me. -------------- i wish you ill, ice-t. margarine is a liar who announces, "i am butter!" |

I'm mary, I'm far too old to have a screenname like princesslodgey and I've been a recreational gym goer for 4 years. I started doing weights properly and eating sensibly when I joined FT in February, after an appendicectomy grounded me and forced me to spend my time looking at the internet.

Hi my name is Elizabeth. I live in a small town in Northwestern Ontario (-40 in the winter). I have 2 children boy 11, and girl 6 from previous marriage. I am in a serious relationship, that has a serious problem we are 800 hundred miles apart we fly back & forth every few weeks. I have worked in a major grocery store chain for 20 years now, and have applied for a transfer to be with my man. My #1hobby is working out, but I also swim, jog, read, just too many to list. Love spending time with my children, my partner, family and friends. Love this site, and look forward to possibly making some new friends here.

I am Christian and am 21. I live in a small town in Texas. I work as a teacher's aide in the middle school here in town. I have lifted weights and worked out since I was a sophomore in high school, but have just started having a clue of proper training about a year ago. I plan on keeping my training and fitness as a life long habit. I am tired of being out of shape. I am usually a pretty serious kind of guy, but will eventually lighten up.

Hey, I've been neglecting my posting (and diet and weights and cardio) for a while...
I am 22 (just graduated with an English degree from Duke University) I live in Atlanta and work at a law firm doing paralegal work and some light secretarial duties. I decided to NOT go to law school as I see how much being a lawyer sucks. My original goal of being a lawyer was to 1)be rich and 2)make sure no one tried to bully me. I have since decided that A)working for an hourly wage (albeit a high one) will never make you rich (you might have money, but not Trump money) and B)male colleagues will still think that they are better than me (being a pretty southern girl has always made people think I'm a dummy anyway) Now I am just going to get a PhD in English, but first I plan on living life for 6 or 7 years. I'm dating a 2LT in the Army who is becoming my exercise partner till he goes to Ft Sill in January. My other interests are reading, writing, being critical of others, cooking, sewing, dancing (ballet, tap, jazz, and hip-hop), and doing the New York Times Xword puzzles. |

============ Quoting from mmaibohm: I am Mike Maibohm age 29 Hilton NY. I live with my Wife and our 2 dogs Loki my pitbull and Zoey her shar-pei. ============= Anyhow.. I am Amy - I have been many things - Craftsperson, Bouncer, Pizza Chef, Stagehand...the list goes on. I am a personal trainer - I started my own in-home studio so that I didn't have to figure daycare and so that I could train people the right way, istead of the 'club' way. I am 34:surprised:, have a beautiful 9-year-old daughter, an awesome husband (10 year anniversary, last month) who puts up with my odd eating habits and even does a pretty good effort of eating right with me.... I am an amateur bodybuilder - still struggling with dieting down, but getting a handle on it:) Always trying to be bigger - all natural. I compete around 145lbs.... I am also a manic-depressive...on a large dose of Prozac (you are not alone, Dani!!!) So I tend to go through extremely hyper, motivated phases and then very dark, reclusive sleeping phases. That is leveling out now (sigh of relief). Other than lifting wiehgts and spending time with my family &pets (Shepherd mix, Magnus, Cat, Silver, and beta - Godzilla), my favorite pasttime is making Hecdarec do push-ups. I love freetrainers and what it does for sooooo many people!!!! My name is Wendy, and I live in KY. I'm 31 years old, have been married almost 8 years, and we have a 4 year old son. I graduated from college in 1996 with a B.A. in Early Childhood Education. I've been teaching for 8 years and received my Masters in Early Childhood Education during the summer of 2002!!! :)
I gained 42 lbs with our son and after being asked if I was pregnant again, the next school year by a student of mine, I joined Weight Watchers. By following the program, I lost 35 lbs. I've maintained that weight loss for 3 years. Currently, I'm up a few pounds from my WW goal weight, but I'm steadily working on increasing my muscles and actively working to shed inches. |

I am married with 2 kids - a 6 year old girl and 4 year old boy. I am wrapped around my girls little finger and my boy is usually wrapped around my leg trying to take me down (becuase he is stronger of course). My biggest struggle is keeping my workout routine and eating habits in line mostly becuse I traved an average of three days a week. |

Always homesick, there just isnt anywhere else in the world like TX, and thats a good and a bad thing. I work retail sales, and I like it very much.
