Friday, day 1...2/11/05
As noted above, today is my first day using a new supplement called CVM(as the name implies, Cell Volumizing Matrix). I won't bore you with the details of the product other than it uses a custom ingredient matrix which give synergistic effects of the following.... Increased Lean Muscle Tissue Increased Strength Increased Endurance Better Pumps Here is the breakdown of the supplement... CVM Xtreme: Supplement Facts Serving Size: 1 heaping scoop Servings per Container: 50 Amount per Serving: CVM (Cell Volumizing Matrix Blend) DiCreatine Malate 4 grams Betaine Anhydrous 2 grams Taurine 2 grams 2:1 DiArginine Malate 1.5 grams Glucuronalactone 1 gram Glycocymine 500 mg. Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) 100 mg. (5000% DV) Vitamin B3 (Niacin) 50 mg. (250% DV) Folic Acid 200 mcg. (50% DV) Vitamin B12 125 mcg. (42% DV) If any of you have ever done V12, this is right along the same lines with improvements over the original formula. Ok the jug has a scoop with a nice long handle so there will be no problem getting to the bottom of it. The good news. The bad news, it tastes a bit like ass :big_smile:with some orange flavoring added. But, then we hardcore folks never have worried much about taste.(in all fairness, I took it right after I brushed my teeth, so I will refresh this tomorrow after tonights dose). By the way, the dosing is 30 minutes before your workout, and 8-10 hrs. later 30 minutes prefferably before a meal. Ok, on to results...today was again day 1, and very little to report. Did have a good leg workout, but nothing I could attribute yet to the supplement. Here is how the workout went... Leg presses(plate loaded squat press) Sets...590x10,680x10,770x10,860x5,860x5,950x3(followed last 3 sets with raising the catch plate and repping out 10 with each weight) Leg extensions(position 2 overload end) Sets....90x10,115x10,125x10,135x10 Leg extensions(position 3 overload beginning) Sets....90x10,100x10 Lying leg curls Sets....90x10,105x9,120x6 Adductors Sets.....140x20,140x20 Abductors Sets....140x20,140x20 Standing calf raises Sets......495x20,505x20,505x20 Nice leg pump! -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

Yes, Amy, it very much would. It is for the serious strength training athelete, male or female. It contains no hormones, etc. so will have no adverse affects. bb1fit-
I tried the orange this morning I will agree with you on the taste. I have tried the fruit punch and grape and I was happy with those very light and tarty. One thing I did was not use but about 4 oz of water and it still easily mixed. The new formulation will be out in March and it will include creatine ethyl ester malate and argine ethyl ester dihydrochloride. These compounds will replace the dicreatine and diarginine malate. We are also working on new flavors hard pink lemonade, and strawberry bananna. -------------- Keith Hardy CFO Serious Nutrition Solutions LLC keith@seriousnutritionsolutions.com www.seriousnutritionsolutions.com |

Saturday, day 2...2/12/05
Ok, today is a day of rest, and I am going to do just that. I took my second dose last night, and did my morning regimine this morning. The only "news" I have is an update on the taste of the product. Ass may have been a bit harsh, but the taste does indeed leave a bit to be desired. But, again, I care about results, and it is not that bad. If it gives results, I can sure get past the taste. As noted in the above post, I probably chose the worst flavor. So, I would suggest to anyone wanting to use this product and worried about taste to choose either fruit punch or grape. Product results? Will know more tomorrow hopefully, chest day. I am looking forward to good things. I used this same company's CRE2, and for those who followed my log I had very good results from it, so expect nothing but good things from this product as well. I will be honest though with the product, my reputation means alot to me. I would never recommend anything to anyone that I did not believe really helped. So, till tomorrow.... -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

Sunday, day 3...2/13/05
Well, have to report good news. 3 days in and liked the results. Had the best chest workout I have had in weeks. Took a dose as scheduled 30 minutes before training. Was strong, did 115's on flat dumbbell, followed up with 90's on the incline. I have been struggling with the 110's for the last few weeks, and today went easy. In fact, lost control of the dumbbell due to bad hand placing, was able to not only recover, but knock out some nice reps with it. And a fantastic chest pump. All this with a bit of head cold also. I haven't done any creatine since the CRE2 I did over a month ago. So, I am very impressed so far to say the leaast. -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

Justin-
It is relatively new to the market and yes it can be used during a cutting cycle being that it is a dicreatine malate there should not be much water retension. -------------- Keith Hardy CFO Serious Nutrition Solutions LLC keith@seriousnutritionsolutions.com www.seriousnutritionsolutions.com |

Monday, day 4...2/14/05
Well, more good results to post. Today was arm day, and it was a good one. My arms looked and felt huge, my workout partner took immediate notice today. Said could tell the supplement was working, usually spots me on 3 reps at least with the 110lb. ez bar on all sets, and today didn't have to spot me but on the last rep of the last set. So far I am pleased with the product, workouts are feeling more productive again. I have decided I will compete again in November, as this will be long after the June wedding and give me ample time to get ready. I believe the Rockford Classic is then, and always wanted to do it but was always worn out from too much dieting for shows earlier in the year in March and May. -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

The reason I asked is because it will probably yield better results if you are creatine "clean" so to speak as I am. I am doing nothing at all with it(stacked). I may incorporate something later, but right now, seems to be no need. The results I am getting are just the CVM.

I am planning on taking CVM Xtreme in a little over a month, i'm doing a short 4 week cut before my friends come to visit in march for spring break in which i'll take my week off and kind stray off my diet, but after that i plan to resume my cut for another 4-6 weeks maybe longer in which i'll start the CVM. for the past year i've just been taking protein, malot, dextrose, ZMA and glutamine and have been thinking about using creatine i just don't know whether to use it on a bulk or cut...any advice on that?....So can CVM be used in coorilation with creatine during a bulk or cut?

So far, the report is very good. Did back today, and was very energetic(cut down rest times) and still doing my same weights. I was very pleased, seemed to still have some "gas" in the tank after completing my workout. I did however keep from going overboard to eliminate any chance of overtraining. I have used the V12 and it had pretty good results and has awesome taste. It sounds like pretty much the same thing as CVM. It is good to here you guys talk about this stuff day by day.

It doesn't sound like, from the their sites readings, that there is much of a difference. Just what you are taking in is different the affects still seem to be in the same range of each other. CVM doesn't contain Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate and it has di- instead of trie-creatine malate. Some of the other stuff I have no idea what it does. Hope it helped I am no professional though.

Maybe I can help put some input in layman's terms on why we did what we did in designing our formula.
Tricreatine Malate- chemically it is impossible tricreatine malate is just a patent name Di Arginine Malate- We went with a 2 to 1 ratio because we felt from the testers we used and our own testing that it was far superior than AAKG. Also our chemists felt the same in that regards. We have had alot of good feedback from the product and the new formula which will be out hopefully by the end of march will be even more superior. Hope this helps -------------- Keith Hardy CFO Serious Nutrition Solutions LLC keith@seriousnutritionsolutions.com www.seriousnutritionsolutions.com |

Nice to see folks responding to the log. I give it a thumbs up at this point. In fact, I used V12 by Sans before with what I thought less than spectacular results. This product seems a better fit. I am putting my reputation out here, I would never recommend a product that did not work, no matter how "free" it is. Today was an unscheduled day off, will make it up tomorrow. Friday, day 7...2/18/05
As mentioned above, had to take an unscheduled day off yesterday, so that means making up some ground. Threw in calves with shoulders today, and will hit quads, hams and glutes tomorrow. That means Sunday doing chest with no break between legs. :( I don't normally like doing two large bodyparts right next to each other like that, hard to recouperate if you really push things for the next part, like hitting legs with everything, then turning around and hitting chest. But, this week is an exception. On to today's session....As the title says, very pleased with todays training. Hit some new highs even, and lots of endurance. I am liking this product so far. I should note I was doing no creatine at all before this, so I am quite positive my results are from this. I am also as noted on a cut, and this makes things even more positive, actually increasing strength. My current supplementation is pretty standard, protein, dex, malto, flax oil, vitamins, and now CVM. I thought it might be good to list my current diet. I am in the first stages of a cut, have done nothing to deprive myself, and approaching this as I do any other(I have done so many, that I have it down pretty much to an art for me anyway). I have simply at this point done what I call step one, and that is eliminate my inbetween meal snacks(which coincidently add up to right at 250 calories :)), and crank up my intensity in my workouts. Staying heavy, but adding in drop sets, supersets, etc. In fact one I did today I really liked was close neutral grip seated presses supersetted with front dumbbell raises. Killer. Ok, on to the diet... Meal 1 1/2 c. oatmeal 5 eggwhites 1 sc. ON 1/4 cup blueberries Supplements...Multi, 500 mg. Vit.C, B complex 100, 600 mg. calcium, probiotic train...take 1 scoop CVM 30 min. before Meal 2 PWO shake Protein mix I order myself...80% isolate/20% hydrolosate Dextrose Maltodextrin Immediately take 2 B complex, 1 gr. Vit. C, and 400 mcg. Chromium with water and then start my shake Meal 3 6 oz. chicken or turkey 2 oz. spinach pasta or 1/2 cup brown rice 1 c. veggies Supplements...400IU vit. E, 30mg.COq10,100mg. Selenium, Lecithin Meal 4 6 oz. chicken or turkey 1/2 cup beans(black, lima, black eyed peas, etc.) 1 cup veggies Supplements...Vit. C 500 mg. Meal 5 5 oz. buffalo, or 6 oz. chicken 2 cups veggies 1 tbsp. flax oil Supplements...400 IU high gamma Vit. E(take second dose of CVM 30 minutes before this meal) Meal 6(ZMA an hour before this meal) Before bed 6 eggwhites blended with 1/4 cup cottage cheese and omlette veggies, 1 cup Hoods dairy beverage, 1 sc. Muscle milk, 2 flax oil capsules That is it. Current cutting diet. Things are working well, some folks are already noticing a nice change, I know I see it. I always get lean in my shoulder area first, and am seeing some nice cuts coming in that area already(2 weeks in). My training split by the way is... Day 1..Chest/Abs Day 2..Triceps/biceps/forearms Day 3..Rest Day 4..Back/Abs Day 5..Shoulders(sometimes an extra calf day) Day 6..Quads/hams/glutes/calves With my work schedule, I have to throw in an extra day rather than what I would prefer to do and combine for instance back and shoulders, and rotate my workouts a day earlier. But, we have to make a living. -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

Today I tried to play catch-up as noted above with my workout, while at the same time trying to do just enough to be recouperated by tomorrrow's chest workout. Things went very effortlessly. Went up and matched my 950 high on leg presses, but did not try to push forward. Dropped back and did more reps for a good leg burn, and as anyone knows following this log, part of my cutting strategy.
I felt very good that I still matched my high weight, and even added exercises and reps, did deep hack squats also. I am fast becoming a believer in this product, and I will be recommending it to anyone who desires. A very worthwhile addition to a sound diet. I have done Swole V2, Sans V12, and now this CVM. I give the CVM a thumbs up over the others! I remember being disappointed by the Swole, but in its defense I was a very early tester and improvements may have been made. The V12 I remember getting great pumps with, but not much else. With this I am getting strength gains as well as pumps. (and on less calories). -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

I to had to take an unscheduled day off as well this week, but i don't think i'm going to be able to make it up, is that something that should be done if you have to take an unscheduled day off, to make up the extra ground or only if you canI'm cutting as well and i could take out a cardio day or do cardio after since it's only shoulders that i missed.

Today was a normal chest day, but I usually have a day of rest between legs and chest. So, I was unaware what to expect. Must say I was very pleased at my endurance, strength was fine, and for 3 hard workouts in a row, on a cutting diet, I was all in all pleased with the day.
I again handled the 115's very nicely on flat dumbbell bench, and also added a drop set on my last set of 90's on inclines. In between that, did 3 supersets of decline benches and flat flies, progressively upping the weight, ending up with a final set of 250 on declines. I truly don't think I would have been able to do this much of a workout without the assistance of this CVM. It is not a miracle, but definitely a worthwhile addition to your supplement arsenal. I am wondering what it would be like if I was bulking, and will give that a shot sometime after this cut is over. -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

I would try to fit the day in somehow. It is more important than a cardio session, so I would opt out a cardio day for a makeup workout.
If you don't make it up, I would continue on with your normal split...meaning do your next scheduled workout and dont fall behind with adding it in. See, you will suffer somewhere down the road, less rest between bodyparts, so weaker in your lifts, which all translates to unwanted things, and so your workouts will suffer, especially on a cut. ============ Quoting from JustinE22: I to had to take an unscheduled day off as well this week, but i don't think i'm going to be able to make it up, is that something that should be done if you have to take an unscheduled day off, to make up the extra ground or only if you canI'm cutting as well and i could take out a cardio day or do cardio after since it's only shoulders that i missed. ============= -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

Today was an "extreme" day to say the least. Starting back on 10 hrs. today, 2 hrs. early, so was really pushed for time. I had 45 minutes to complete my arm workout, so it was brutal and fast. Actually fell into my cutting scenario well though not by choice. As mentioned before, the first stages I use im my cutting cycles are cranking up the intensity of my workouts. Doing lots of supersets, dropsets, etc. can rival cardio but with weights. More effective I believe also, especially at first. I figured it out, I did 222 reps in 45 minutes. Doing the math, this is 4.9 reps a minute! I was smoking!
Anyway, great workout, bi's and tri's were cooked. Here is the workout I did... Today was a much needed day off. Did my CVM doses as scheduled, just took the second one. Did do a bit of cardio today, trying to keep with the one day per week right now and let my training intensity and diet do the work. So on a cut you gradually increase cardio the farther into it you go?...Is there a problem jumping straight into 3 days of cardio

Well, the "problem" that arises is if you jump right into alot of cardio, where do you have to turn? The only place is calories. At some point, no matter what, you will not be able to increase your cardio any more, and then you have to make all your moves from diet. At some point, this becomes counterproductive, not to mention the hunger associated, irritability, etc. I would rather add in a bit more exercise and keep my food if you know what I mean.

Today was a good back day. Got some good sleep last night, got up earlier and felt rested. Though I still left the house too late and had to push things in the gym(I eat so dam slow!). I incorporated more drop sets, supersets, and really "moved". Felt like I got a workout, then had to drive 90 miles an hour to make it to work on time!
I strongly attribute my endurance and strength holding through this diet to my supplement regimine(CVM). I have made a small calorie adjustment, so the supplemental effects and additions is getting more prominent. -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

Talk about rushed, today was a 45 minute shoulder workout, and completed it! Usual weights, less rest time, great shoulder workout. -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

it's been about 2 weeks now Ron, how do you feel about the effects of CVM half way through?

As my log says, I have been pressed for time this week, training times have been shortened, and I have still been able to hold strength and fly through my workouts. I contribute at least part of that to the product. It is very hard to to say 200 or more reps in 45 minutes of anything, and very exhausting. Really am not sure if I could have done these type workouts without a bit of help.
As far as today, there was just no possible way I could have gotten in legs in 45 mnutes. It takes me I don't know how long just to load and unload the 20 plates I go up to on leg presses. So, I opted for today off instead of tomorrow, and will hit legs tomorrow, but the downside is again doing chest right after legs without a rest day. Oh well, as I say, we have to make a living. My job requires much overtime from me. Until Freetrainers starts "paying" better!!:laugh: , I will have to keep working! ============ Quoting from JustinE22: it's been about 2 weeks now Ron, how do you feel about the effects of CVM half way through? ============= -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

I hate loading the weights on and off the leg press:( That's why it kills me when people say they just don't have the time to work out and eat properly. If you want it bad enough you can squeeze it in.:dumbbell:

I didn't post yesterday, got off track with a bunch of stuff. Anyway, had a very good leg day, in fact did leg presses(3 sets) on a different leg press first, really kind of per exhausted them a bit, and then hit my usualy leg press for top weight. I really cooked my legs, was happy with the day. Again, with the calorie adjustment I have made this last week, started a carb cycle, I am pleased with strength and endurance still available. I do soundly believe this product is a huge assist in these areas, have dieted way too many times and know the route the body takes with endurance and strength loss. I purchased glutamine select to assist me through these next weeks also. It is a glutamine/BCAA mix to help save lean tissue while training. (BCAA's are metabolized directly in the muscle as opposed to EAA's having to pass through the liver) -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

Well, again knocked out a quality chest day after hitting legs hard yesterday. I must again say I am pleased with CVM, don't want to sound like a broken record, but it must be an aid. Yesterday was a low carb day also, so I expected the combination of that and a heavy leg workout to take its toll on my chest day today. Had no spot, only went up to 100's dumbbells, but for solid reps a couple sets, was pretty strong on Power rack partials. Really moved fairly well also. Had a nice ab workout to boot.
On another note, comparing notes with Mutt, I do not have the "pumped" all week feeling, wish I did. Oh well, different folks, different effects. But am pleased with all other aspects as stated above. -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

A day behind again, was very busy last night and not much time to post. Yesterday was an arm day, and very pleased. Am making good progress in my cut, carb cycling, all the while holding strength.-------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

Ok, up to date!! Today is a day off, will be no weights, but will do some cardio before work. Still staying with my once per week session, things are proceeding nicely, no need for more right now.-------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

Hey Ron, do you notice that when you go to lift you can keep doing set after set? My volume has increased want to see if you share the same? I am adding about 2-3 sets per exercise....just wondering-------------- If you can itch your nose after arm day...do another set! 7707mutt@freetrainers.com |

Agreed, if you followed my log at all, you will find that. I have been adding more drop sets, etc. Last week was a real test, got my workouts in each day in record time!

Today was a back day, and a good one. Was pretty much flying through my workout, felt good. Got a bit of an ego boost, always nice when you are dieting and feeling strength ebb a bit, and the associated feelings. I just finished my back, went back to the ab area to start abs, and some guy(I swear these are his words), says, "hey, how do you get blowed up like that!" Well, I proceeded to explain diet is everything, etc. But it felt good to hear that, because dieting always makes you "feel" puny even though you actually look bigger if done correctly. So, stroked my ego a bit!-------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |
