Oh and lets not forget Du Hast by: Rammstein-------------- \"Gold medals aren\'t really made of gold. They\'re made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.\" - Dan Gable brachii |

Since posting back in '03, I've looked for heavy lifting music WITHOUT the negative vibe--you know what I mean? Something that doesn't constantly push sex, drugs, violence (against the innocent), profanity, etc. in the lyrics but has the intensity of Metallica, Disturbed, etc.
I've found some great Christian Rock that hangs with the best of them for a hard workout, like Demon Hunter, Red, Chavelle, Alter Bridge, and Blindside. Go to walmart.com, do a search--particularly for some of the newer Demon Hunter--and listen to the samples. You'll get sold. Of course, there's nothing wrong with a little "And Justice for All" every once in a while... -------------- Success comes by pumping to failure. |

Hatebreed gets me going the most. Pantera, Danzig, Killswitch, Zombie (Rob or White), Carcass, Bloodbath, Static X, Black Label Society, Arch Enemy, some goth-clubby industrial stuff thrown in there for good measure. Generally anything that will make you want to smash a face or crush someone's neck vertebre in a reverse choke...

So, this may sound completely strange...but my music depends on what part of my workout I am doing. It's kinda like this....
Cardio - anything with fast beats and upbeat (club mixes, trance, techno) stretching - mellow stuff...trip-hop, ambient, slower pop/rap/R&B Lifting - rock/alternative, pop/rap/R&B, harder electronic stuff (jungle, tribal, other stuff with really hard beats) Abs/sides - usually go with the pop/rap/r&b stuff...but sometimes throw in some alternative/rock Like I said...might sound strange...but I find, for some reason, that certain types and styles of music motivate me better on certain types of activity than others. |
