Ok, I am going to be using a new supplement, it is called X Factor. I thought I would run a log on this for anyone interested to see results and quality of the product. I will relay both the good, the bad, and ugly if there is any. Some info on the product up front from the literature contained with it....
Arachidonic Acid is the actual substance released by the muscle cells when you lift weights...especially when you lower the weight(eccentric part of the movement). These new elevated levels of AA are then used to produce little known hormones called prostaglandins...and its the prostaglandins that actually start increasing rapid protein turnover and anabolism, largely by increasing androgen receptor levels in your muscles, making them more responsive to testosterone. In fact, a landmark study published in the American Journal of Physiology, increased prostaglandin levels induced by weight training increased protein anabolism by up to a staggering 98% for 48 hrs. Now, here is where it gets exciting....since we now know that training produces lots of extra AA, it makes complete scientific sense to simply supplement more AA so our body can release more of this vital nutrient than it does normally. This leads to an enhanced training effect. A training amplification that will rapidly trigger the core cellular processes that are the indisputable true first cause of actual muscle growth. It is not hormonal, no side effects. Reports of up to 2 lbs. of lean muscle tissue per week seen in the majority of users, and are well retained after the supplement is discontinued. -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

Here is the specifics on doseage, etc. that I will be doing..
Product Information: (Arachidonic Acid) is an essential fatty acid, which is consumed in small amounts in our regular diets. It is found mainly in the fatty parts of meats and fish (largely in red meat). Our daily intake, even in those who eat a lot of red meat, is relatively small, owing to how little is actually found here1. For example, the visible fat area on beef only contains anywhere from 20 to 180 milligrams of arachidonic acid per 100 grams (nearly a quarter pound) of fat!2. In the lean portion of meat the arachidonic acid content is even lower. Since this particular fatty acid is so scarce, the average western diet provides only about 230 milligrams of this important nutrient to each of us per day3. The body is also adept at regulating tissue arachidonic acid levels, which means that diet alone is not enough to impart a short term anabolic effect. Highlights: Increased workout productivity (Intensified residual soreness) Increased pumps (Greater nutrient availability to the muscles) Increased androgen receptors (Amplifying the anabolic actions of testosterone) Increased protein synthesis rates (Accelerated muscle and strength gains) Supplement Facts: Serving Size: 1 Softgel Servings Per Container: 90 Amount Per Serving: Arachidonic Acid: 200mg Directions for Use: Directions: Take 1 softgel daily for long-term supplementation. Take up to 5 softgels daily for brief "loading cycles" not to exceed 50 days. Repeat loading cycles only after 50 days of normal supplementation. By the way, here is some info on Bill Llewellyn for those of you who are not aware of who he is....
LLEWELYN, WILLIAM Anabolic Guru Quality of Information Easy to Follow Material Author's Industry Credentials William Llewellyn is a prolific researcher, writer, and inventor, with a no-nonsense and straightforward approach to the subject of performance enhancement that makes him one of the boldest and most controversial figures in the sports industry today. He has received a tremendous amount of mainstream media attention for his work in this field, including a feature cover story in ESPN Magazine ("Catch Him If You Can", July 7, 2003), a feature appearance on ESPN Television ("Outside the Lines", September 3, 2003), a feature cover story on the front page of the Washington Post newspaper ("New Steroids Sold Over Counter", December 2002), a live radio interview with Jeff Caves (ESPN Sports Radio show, WKTIK 1350), and numerous other national and regional TV/Radio news programs and newspaper articles. Llewellyn considers himself a truth advocate, and works tirelessly to break through the myths and misconceptions about performance enhancing substances, discussing them in an honest, professional and unbiased manner. If you want to know the truth about the use of steroids and other drugs in competitive sports, Llewellyn is the name to trust. (this supplement is 100% legal by the way, not a steroid and/or hormonal, and in fact was awarded a patent). -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

So for someone like at age 18 this should be a good supplement because my body has testosterone to allocate to the androgen receptors. But if someone was middle aged would this product be a good stack with ZMA, or would the extra testosterone be of very little use.

Yes, I am still on my cutting diet, this should be a great access to it. Along with my mega dosing of BCAA's, should be interesting and a great stack.
I always do ZMA regardless. -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

Day 1....4/10/05
Ok, as you might guess, not much to relate today. I started my dosing this morning, 2 soft gels with breakfast, and then 2 more with my post workout meal. Have one more to go today. If any of you haven't seen above, the dosing recommended is 2-2-1. A couple notes about the product and its effects to look for.....The 2 main early indicators that you are noticing the proper inflammatory response from X factor are increased pumps during training, and increased post workout soreness. This may take 2-3 weeks to sufficiently kick in(depending on the person, etc.). I will be increasing my protein intake also, as increased AA levels will increase protein synthesis/turnover rates. Increased protein levels are needed to get the most from this product. ****note, most of this is directly from Bill Llewellyn. -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

So you would strongly suggest stacking BCAA's with this supp? What do you consider mega dosing BCAA's

I AM SO LOOKING FORWARD HOW THIS SUPPLEMENT ENDS, since i hardly take supplements because of my age and stuff, and my only supplement is food. dont get me wrong, i am not complaining about anything, FOOD IS THE BEST SUPPLEMENT IN THE MARKET and its results are amazing:big_smile:
but if this product has no side effects, why not taking it? keep it up BB1 and keep us posted. |

Day 2...4/11/05
Again, as one would suspect, not alot to report. I did have a much better workout today than yesterday, but not related to the product. On another note, does not matter if taken with or without food, but from 2 days I believe taking it with food will be prefferential. Day 3.....4/12/05
Again, I have nothing new to report, today was cardio(as well as tonight). Tomorrow I will be hitting back/calves/abs, so maybe there will be an update. It was mentioned that this may take 2-3 weeks in some folks to load and start to notice, then others noticed it right away. I unfortunately am not in the "right away" camp!:big_smile: -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

Day 4....4/13/05
Well, some interesting things to note, not sure yet to attribute to the supplement, especially this morning. Was going to wait till tomorrow and see how I felt, but thought I may as well go on and post this and fill in the gaps tomorrow if it is something totally different or unrelated. I got up and almost immediately noticed my chest was tight, full, and really hard! Don't know if I have ever experienced that before on waking. (muscle hardness and fullness is supposed to be one of the indicators of this stuff). Even after eating, and while driving to the gym for my workout I noticed this still there. Felt like my chest was really "puffed" out, yet very solid. I did back/calves/abs today in the gym, and noticing tonight a bit more(which would normally be any soreness) than usual. Calves felt like they had knots in them today, but that is not out of the ordinary. So, will definitely keep a keen eye on this "fullness" phenomenom, want to know myself just what is the deal here! I will say I LIKED the feeling! Till tomorrow. -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

Just a little curious as to what your diet is like Ron. Are you carb cycling or anything of that nature? Just curious if diets like that have an impact on the effectiveness of the supp. you take.

Day 6....4/15/05
Again, nothing new to report...<tapping my foot with arms crossed> Really though, it is only day 6 out of a 50 day trial. Long time to go, and the literature plainly pointed out loading effects may not be seen for 2-3 weeks. I am very concientious about any supplement I do, I follow it to the letter. I am doing that with this, exactly as laid out, dosing 2-2-1. -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

Day 11....4/11/05
Decided to change up my dosing times today. I still am doing of course 2-2-1, but I was taking my first dose first thing in the morning. I changed that today to pre workout, and I did have an awfully good back pump(and was moving between sets at a rapid pace). Could be coincidence, will know more tomorrow. Even if this stuff is starting to work, don't really know if the loading is finally starting to kick in or if changing the dose did anything. Anyway, I will be happy when results start to be constant. Still not sure about today, if X Factor played a part or not, will follow the same protocol tomorrow. Day 12....4/21/05
Again, exceptional workout today. My pace was unreal. When I say exceptional, on a scale of 1-10, it is an 11! If this is a result of X Factor, I am loving this stuff right now. (something is going on, I know that)...with all the cardio and the grueling nights at work, I should be dragging. Need the extra ooommph for this stretch run. I have read from other folks who have done this the same thing, they felt like they could go on and on. Tomorrow is legs, we will see what it brings. Ok, on the personal front......I am in contest prep as many of you know. I have been dieting and doing tons of cardio as of a late start. Now, I hate getting on the scale, rarely ever do during prep as I hate to see that scale going down. I have been using the mirror as a judge. Anyway, I did weigh myself at the beginning of this trial, and this morning against my better judgement, I decided to get on the scale. Well, to my surprise, I was UP 1.5 lbs.!! And this is with a pretty dramatically changed body composition. Great cuts across my chest, anterior delts have the biggest split in them I have ever see, abs and obliques are coming along nicely. Wow, I have been thinking this wasn't doing anything because I was not getting sore. But some of you may know, I never, ever get sore anyway, no matter what I do! So all the while the X Factor may well have been working. I will say I have never GAINED while contest dieting! Day 16....4/25/05
Another day for the books....felt great, lots of energy, and pretty strong. On the weight front, the 1.5lb. gain is now gone, got on the scale again. Saw a 1.5 lb. loss. Am quite sure it is all fat, did an arm measurement just yesterday and still just at 16 1/4. Feel pretty good about that, things are coming along nicely. Some days my abs/obliques are very strong without doing anything, other days not quite so but still very present. Am now seeing the deep split between the two middle abs and the lower ab is starting to show well (I usually get the "8 pack"). I want that trophy too bro!!
The weight gains have definitely stopped, am now down 3 1/2 lbs. from the start of this trial. My body composition is completely changed though, quite interesting for such a late start. My strength is great, no drop off at all I have seen, and calories are definitely at a premium. (looking very forward to my next meal.. ). Tomorrow will be the end of only the first bottle, two full bottles to go on this trial. Looking forward to great results, and wondering what it would be like to bulk with this stuff. ============ Quoting from thedominator: sorry was away for some days.. couldn't come.. bb1fit congrats on the gains.. so that means X-Factor really is working quite well... atleast that is what i can assume from what u r saying.. will be looking forward to more results from u.. keep up the good work.. and.. Day 19.....4/28/05
I am extremely impressed at the rate of leaness I am achieving with what I consider much more fullness and hardness. I must admit, I had my doubts(they crept in a bit), but am now come away from the dark side and into the light. I just finished my first bottle, and this trial will coincide in the end perfect with my contest day! I am looking very forward to the finished product. This line below at this point jumps out at me from the specs on the product. Though I am not experiencing the pwo soreness to a great degree(but then, haven't for years), LBM gains and NOTICEABLE FAT LOSS! I am truly believing that my rapid contest conditioning is as much a result of this product. Though doing alot of cardio, etc., I still could not have achieved where I am in hardness and fullness with what looks like actual gains without this product. I am quite sure I would have suffered some muscle loss with the frantic pace I am using in this short preparation time. Have no real evidence to back this up, but the finished product as I mentioned will be quite telling. "X-Factor users notice a dramatically heightened physiological response to exercise, including greater post-workout soreness, intense pumps, rapid strength and lean body mass (LBM) gains, and noticeable fat loss." -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

For folks who always say they get sore every time they work out, this stuff must be brutal for them! -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

Day 23.....5/2/05
Good arm day. Really pressed for time, pounded out some good weights. I find myself wondering what this stuff would be like on a bulk, eating lots of good food. Have a feeling strength might be very enhanced. I think that once this trial is done, and I wean off of this stuff for a while, I will give it another loading run on a bulk. -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

I am of course not gaining weight, but I am maintaing my strength very nicely. With this aspect I am very impressed, nothing worse than the sinking of feeling of getting weaker.
I believe I am harder and fuller than any other time this late in preparation. ============ Quoting from thedominator: so it is taking u somewhere, where u've never been before.. i mean getting sore and all.. so does that means you are gaining more comparatively now then u did with other stuff?... even in cutting phase for the competition?.. ============= -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |
