Two weeks out and I am doing ok. I am stillhaving problems with feeling depressed and I still am very tired. But this time two weeks ago I was in a lot of pain and I am glad that part is over. I think I am at 30lbs lost so far.-------------- Less Talk, More Chalk! The Men and Boys are Separated by one thing: The Squat Cage! 7707mutt@freetrainers.com |

Had to go shopping for work pants. Iacutally fit into a size 46 for the first time in 5 years! My scale says I am 275lbs(more on that in a bit). That means I have lost 33lbs. 275 is HUGe for me the last time i weighed that was in 1999 when I go married. I an 25lbs from a even bigger number 250!-------------- Less Talk, More Chalk! yes vicodin is a mixture of Acetaminophen( tylenol )non narcotic and hydrocodone a narcotic, when mixed create an analgesic pain reliever, this coming from someone thats had quite a few surgerys and stiches in his life. i myself prefer percacet over vic's, the vic's upset my tummy and the perc's make me itch like a banshee but seems to work better....
Mutt im glad everything is working out for you and my thoughts are with you and your family, dont sweat being grumpy, its all part of getting better, you should see me when im recovering from that crap they pump into me, id scare off a rattle snake and grizzly bear with my grumpiness, its all good. hang in there bro.. bill -------------- Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Well my right foot was so bad I made a docs appt for 530pm monday. I went to a after hours center and they sent me to the ER. No on knows what is wrong, I spent 5 hours in agony as the pain went from a 6 to a 10. They wrapped it in a splint told me to stay home for two days (n more on this in a min) and gve me pain meds for it. So I came home but their percocet wore off had to take vicodin at 2 am to fall asleep finally. I stayed home and found out that my boss is not paying me for today as he thinks i have taken too much time off. Needless to say I am depressed as the ER docs wanted me to go to a ortho which I amde a appt for friday at 915am but not sure how to go to it as i can not drive my foot is not able to bend to drive on top of the pain meds making me loopy. Plus the work thing I can not take more time off.-------------- Less Talk, More Chalk! The Men and Boys are Separated by one thing: The Squat Cage! 7707mutt@freetrainers.com |

look into the family medical leave act mutt, you are entitled by LAW to take 12 weeks of unpaid leave from your position at work due to illness or family emergency, i know not many of us can afford to take 12 weeks off but your boss would have to hold your job for that time, it may be worth looking into bro, good luck, if i can help let me know ....:)-------------- Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Glad to hear your foot is feeling better, but why aren't you still going to the ortho? If it's because of work, why don't you try and book an appt for sometime in the near future, outside work hours or maybe just leave work a wee bit early, just to try and determine what to do the next time you get a flair up?

I am not going to go because I feel there is nothing they can do. I had 3 docs look at it and came to the same conclusion, "we dunno!" A ortho will do the same thing. bend it, poke it, flex it, xray it, and then say "well not sure what it is but stay off it ice and take advil." which I can not. I think that if it was something serious (a condition that they coudl diganose), it would not have gotten better this much. Anyway that is what I feel. I do not like orthos as I have gone to them before and they did nothing.-------------- Less Talk, More Chalk! The Men and Boys are Separated by one thing: The Squat Cage! 7707mutt@freetrainers.com |

I am walking with out the crtuches, a little pain not a lot. I drove to work. I guess what ever it was is leaving me. Pray to God it never comes back!-------------- Less Talk, More Chalk! WARNING VENT/RANT/WHINE SESSION:
I just do not get it. My right ankle is so sore, puffy looks like crap. Hurts to drive and walk on it but seemed to be getting better. I wake up this morning and what happens? The LEFT foot has gout coming on! I am so close to just giving up and well just givingup. This is not fair and it sucks! I hate this! My wife is pissed as this weekend we were hoping to take the boys to Marine Land one last time (weather looks so good). I am so depressed I am on the edge of tears. I take a vicodin at bed time so I can relax the Right foot enough to sleep, then it wears off at 2am and I am tossing and turning the rest of the night. I have a Docs appt this evening and they had better DO SOMETHING or you will all read about the fallout on the news! -------------- A journey beigns with a single step. 7707mutt@freetrainers.com |

What a drag Mutt. At this point I think you really need to push your DR. for some solutions and/or see some more specialists. I know you've had some crappy experiences, but someone has got to have some solutions for this...surgery...physio...meds whatever it takes. I don't know much about gout, but I do have a friend that had surgery and it made a huge difference. She's having the other foot done this December! At least if you keep digging for answers you'll feel more productive. My totally uneducated guess is it's your gout. My Dad used to get it and I know it caused him huge pain. Have no idea what options are to relieve the pain, but surely there has to be some.
