It's hard to have a hyper active child...incredibly stressful...I literally would have to put myself on time out...there were times I thought I was really going to hurt my son...I know that probably sounds awful..but unless you have lived with this type of child it's hard to understand...we got help too...and we rarely have problems..but when we do I am well equipped to deal with them, and I simply wasn't before...now that you have help things will improve soon. She is getting the brunt of irrationality daily...as crazy as it sounds it sometimes helps to relieve a little tention to be irrational herself for a minute...she doesn't know what shes mad at...she can't say its her son...and well it just can't be her so it must be YOU...when she figures out that it is OK to feel what shes feeling..to just be mad because shes mad...things will calm down.

WSell we thought he was a hyper active child, but according to the docs and 3 weeks of testing he is not. He has aggression issues steming from his inability to express why he is angry. So for the last week we have been doing what they suggested.....totaly using positive reinforcement. HE LOVED IT. We had the best week ever not that he did nothave bad moments but there was little fighting with joey etc. I guess he used that all up. I was so looking forward to not having him here tonight!-------------- Curl Jockeys, get outta the squat rack! 7707mutt@freetrainers.com |

It's the same issues...ADHD kids tend to be aggressive, simply because people are not understanding them, and they don't understand themselves...I was lucky Austin was not aggressive...just incredibly frustrating to deal with,to have to tell the kids every day 8 times a day to brush his teeth just as a minute example...parenting styles make a huge difference.Alex will probably make your life even more miserable tonight when he figures out he REALLY isn't going to grandmas..but if you stick to your guns..don't let him get a rise out of you for it...next time won't be nearly as hard...just remember...those times you see your wife being unfair...remember how hard dealing with your son can sometimes be...and have a little empathy...my husband and I had to really pull together as parents and friends for our sons sake..we did it..and it made us a stronger couple...but you both have to be there for eachother...her for you, meaning opening up to you about how shes feeling.

Oh I am KC. My wife is the greatest woman on the planet. I just needed to vent a bit. Alex is hard to deal with I know that for a fact....I am alone with him and Joey all Sunday as she works. He just has times where you want to lock him in a closet. She and I would never do that but he gets you so mad you have to put him inhis room to calm down. That is where she is right now. SHe has cried 2 times because he is so bad. I am NOT looking forward to going home and expect that this will shoot down her having ahappy Bday tomorrow....she will let it happen.-------------- Curl Jockeys, get outta the squat rack! 7707mutt@freetrainers.com |

It doesn't have to....really!!!Shes vented to you now...if you guys know there is a possibility that hes going to make life rough for a bit tonight...just prepare for it...decide how you'll handle it together...let him be a part of making it a happy birthday for his Mom...keep a positive attitude...all will turn out OK...
This is one of my worst problems...people just want to vent and I take things to seriously...vent away...I'll shutup now!!! |

sounds like to me, even though alex is supposed to be getting punished as a result from your training to deal with him, that you and momma really really need a lil free time, i would, to atleast let you and mom regroup, send alex to gram's for the night, now i know you are taking that away as a punishment, but there's going to be plenty of times to implement that style of behavorial adjustment on him, tonight and tomorow should be you and your wifes time, im all for loving kids to no end and doing whatever needs to be done to make sure they have everything to be happy, healty kids, but i also believe that the lesson you will try to teach him tonight( not going to gram's ) will inadvertenttly have a negative effect on you and your wife, where you are both pretty stressed out. you may need to send him away for the night more than you really know right now.
theres always childrens benadryl, used to knock me out for like 8 hours when i was being bad, i was sooooo bad, ma used to put me on one of those lil kiddy lease's, the one you stick in the ground when you go to the beach and stuff, had like a 20 foot length on, i was like wild e. coyote, you couldnt keep me still for nothing. good luck my friend, you know my number if ya get too stressed, ok ? -------------- \" Once upon a time there was a light in my life, Now theres only love in the dark \" |

well mutt...they're your kids...you'll do whats best for them in your eyes...but if you have told him if certain things didn't happen he was not going to go to grandmas house...and he didn't get those things done and he goes to grandmas anyway...that will turn out BAD in the long run,for both of you..things will only be as bad as you let them to be... |

I have to agree with KC - if you have told him that the trip is out then let him go, he will only learn that he can get away with stuff.

The "blue thing" was just a joking form of punishment like tapping him with duct tape.
If it makes it better for you, you could paint him pink instead Funny you mentioned it - Men do usually stick together. That is why I say that women do not rule the world but they end up hating each other example - if a man walked into a party and he was dressed to the T, men would barely notice if at all - if a women walked in dressed skimpy, the other women would look and think "that slut". ****comments above may not reflect the opinions or views of one said ATIGER. ***** |

well another tid-bit you didnt know about me Kc, i used to bounce at a " booby Bar " you call em, and contrary to poular belief, the guys that work there actually care for the girls, and just dont stare at them all night with their tongue's hanging out, standing in a puddle of drool. most of the girls at the place i worked were students from the local colleges here in worcester, we have 11 schools, and they were all very smart and just trying to pay for school. we made sure no-one touched them and we walked them to and from their cars, they were stricktly hands off and well paid, im still friends with a bunch of them, one is an er-nurse and another is an anestesoligist (sp)... i did like that job alot. perks were great.-------------- \" Once upon a time there was a light in my life, Now theres only love in the dark \" |

I wasn't saying ANYTHING about the girls my dear bill...I actually call them titty bars...but was afraid of a deletion...a women is free to do as she wishes with her body...if she can get some lunk head to pay to see it...more power to her...personally I think the guys that pay to see it aren't all that classy...thats all...just my humble opinion...
still don't get it tiger...why paint the kid blue for acting up...or pink for that matter...doesn't make much sense...and so you say us dam crazy women would call a girl a slut for dressing scantily...but a GUY dressed up is different...would it be so different if this guy came to the party wearing clothing so tight you could see all his "goods"...wearing a 1/2 a bottle of cologne...you guys wouldn't say anything huh???There is a complete difference in dressing to a T...and looking like your heading out to hook it on the corner. |

Just a joke about the painting blue. Kinda like the saying "I am going to slap you naked and hide your clothes" - you are not really going to do it.

ok i can see ive struck a nerve. so if lunk heads pay to see the girls what am i considered for working there ? i thought, with my simple lil mind that maybe my big hearted teddy bear self could help protect these girls from being mistreated, thou they put themselves in that predicament, thought i was being a good guy. after my girl died, and i lost everything, i tried to replace my sense of worth by being protective as i was of shari, very protective, i dont know really, but i know i felt better when i grabbed one of those drunken " lunk " head and threw his butt outside. as far as my image is concerned, im not too concerned, for as a man thinketh in his heart, so he is.........

Bill...I have very deffinate do's and don'ts when it comes to being single and not being single. So for the record..if your single I don't care if you go to a booby bar every night. If you aren't single though, thats when I have a problem. And I was joking about putting a check by your name...mostly. Some things in my past with my bubs I still have problems with and I took it out on you. Sorry buddy-o-mine.

oh my dear bill...you took this totally wrong...I don't care who WORKS there...in fact I know a girl who comes in to eat after work...shes very smart and sweet and very beautiful..she makes way more money as a dancer than at some desk job...I respect her...I don't think anything of the bartenders or bouncers...it's their jobs...just for ME personally if I were single and in the dating scene I would be turned off by a guy who frequented those bars and watched porno to pass the time...thats me,thats my opinion...For someone I'm interested in I would not find it an attractive quality...thats all...I never said anything about the girls,or the bartenders,or the security..or the janitors for that matter....I'm not sure where you got that I did...so sorry if you were offended, just not sure why you are.

Ok folks, I got home and ALex had been a very very good boy so he got to go after all. I went in and did chest and it sucked....I am not feeling to great about weightlifting and all that stuff right now. Everytime I seem to make a step forward I take 3 back. But we had a great weekend had a beautiful party for my wife saturday. Yesterday we took the boys swimming and Joey who up till now wanted little to do with the pool kept pushing us away and tryign to swim like Alex! He was so freaking cute and we decided to take them 2-3 times a week if possible.
I tried to use my belt the other night and even on its last set of holes is 2-3 inches to big. -------------- Curl Jockeys, get outta the squat rack! 7707mutt@freetrainers.com |

The more I think about this the more I realize that I am in one of those "low" zones that happen time to time. I just do not feel like doing a thing. I am so unhappy with my strength and endurance in terms of lifting that I well really just want to quit. I honestly believe this time of year is the toughest on people. Everyone I talk to is feeling low these days. I always seem to be at a low point this time of year. Life just seems more stressful, the weather is getting crappy, more bugs and flu to deal with and you have the added stress of the approaching Holiday season, which we are "supposed" to be happy about. I think you're doing exceptionally well...you're working out regularily again, you don't seem to be having too many health issues and are pretty positive for the most part. I guess what I'm saying is you're not alone in the "low" zone and you're doing all the right things to manage it!

The holidays are for sure a stressful time, and like Fly said with the weather getting nasty and it getting darker earlier...it's much more appealing to snuggle up with a blankie on the couch than to go lift. BUT Mr Mutt, you're doing a great job so far, and even though you feel discouraged, keep plucking along and before you know it it'll be spring, and you'll be in the best shape of your life!!

I think that you are trying to compare your strength and endurance from before the surgery to now. You went thru a major surgery where you are now losing a large amt of weight. There is not a way to keep up what you were doing after that. I personally think that you are doing great. you still make me feel puny when you are lifting now more than i lift. Remember, baby steps. Once you have lost all of the weight then you can look at going back to where you were at. Again you are doing great so keep going. YOU WILL GET THERE
